Personal declaration
My name RAZIA ALAM. I was born in 10-10-1964. I was graduated in BA from Suhrawardy Government College 1in 1984. I had involved in student politics, and then I joined to Bangladesh National Party (BNP) in 1985. Since I joined to BNP, I have actively participated all the party activities; moreover, I was elected as a women organization secretary of Shahin Bag. After becoming party organization secretary, I had increased my activities, and it has were organizing meeting, increasing party member, and expanding party’s activities. During that time president Earshad was spreading dictatorship through out the country, so we called for strikes and protests to bring a democracy in the country. After years of strikes and protest, we were able to bring the democracy back, and our party BNP was elected. In 1992, I was elected general secretory of women party in Tajgoan Dhaka for my outstanding performance and dedications. In 1996, Bangladesh Awami League won the national election, and they had created barriers for our activists. In 2001, our party again won the election, and I was appointed to work for women development, and poverty reduction among poor women in my local area; in addition, I also have started a business to support my family financially. The name of my business if Quobi Fashion. I have sold some designer cloths and helped people to make passport. T. However, in 2008, Bangladesh Awami League again won the national election, and they formed the government. Since they came to power, they have created many obstacles for opposition party so that we cannot protest against their corruption and extrajudicial killing. After a week of the incident, some RAB came to my house, but l was lucky that I was not home that day because I joined in a weeding party in my village. I think they had realized that I was eye wetness, and it could be dangerous for them in future, so they came to my house to destroy the evidence. My neighbor said that they were very disappointed. After that day, I did not go back to my house, and I have lived in different places with the fear of death; moreover, I have realized that if they ever find me, they will kill me, and they have done it before with many other innocent people. I talked to my sister in USA, and she made my arrangement to come to the USA.
