When I got my very first gaming console, a Nintendo 64, I thought this was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Like many, I played countless hours on this machine, I had fun, and I enjoyed every second of it. This was in the early 2000’s, and since then, technology has come a long way in improving gaming experience with the creation of better-looking video games and more powerful gaming consoles. Video games, however, are more complex than what people think—they are not just CD’s or downloadable games via an online app store. Video games are created by groups of people such as artists, game developers, scripters, programmers, and others to create a playable product. And still, it is much more complex than bringing people’s different …show more content…

He held annual visitors day, in which visitors would tour the lab showing off Instrumentation division’s work. William thought the place was dull and figured if the place had something visitors could interact with, saying in an interview a couple of years later, “then it might liven up the place.” He saw that the group had a computer that displayed curves, and a path of a bouncing ball. William then got the idea of a tennis game. So, he made drawings and blueprints, and with the help of Technician Robert Dvorak, the first game was created (3). Although, Computer Space, created in Japan, in 1971, was the first arcade game (4)—William, however, helped build the foundation of playing a game through electronics. Moreover, in the 21st century, gaming systems are equipped with better technology, and video games contain more content and are better looking than their older counterparts. Every game begins with …show more content…

Games like Pac Man, Mario and Pong are considered two dimensional, made from geometric shapes. However, the development of three-dimensional point of view has allowed games to look realistic. Programmers begin by using a three-dimensional concept called “skybox,” or a “focal point,” which is a fixed point with lines extending from the center to the corners of the screen. They then add more lines and shapes onto the original lines, giving the game a three-dimensional look (5). Vectors are also used in the positioning of certain objects by storing the points and direction of that something’s location. For example, in three dimension, the position vector (3, 4, and 5) of a person, means they are 3 meters to the east of the origin, 4 meters up, and 5 meters north on a graph. On a two dimension, the vector position (5, 6) of a person, means they are 5 to the right of the origin on the x-axis, and 6 up on the y-axis
