My favorite sport is soccer, because it was the primary sport in my county. If you were a soccer player, you were famous. I wanted to be a famous soccer player. I worked hard to get the recognition of my peers and others who watch me play. I was determine to master this sport and make lots of money, but that changed when I moved to America.
I was a little boy when I saw my first soccer game. I was so amazed with the players running up and down the field and the way they were passing the ball. I was eleven years old when I started to play. I played at my school and practice at our community center. I was determine to be a good player, so I could become famous. When I got to high school, I was the best player and most popular student
It was the beginning of a new softball season, and I couldn't wait to get out there with my team. At our first practice I remember feeling back at home on the field. Just when I thought this was going to be our teams best season, my parents moved me to a private school. Leaving what I was familiar with was not an easy task, and deciding if I would continue my passion of softball with a different team was even more difficult.
A short, heavyset lady in her mid-forties with a slight stench of cigarettes on her breath takes our order. Jorge, and I sit in the booth closest to the nearest exit door of an old-school 50's style diner. Pictures of Elvis Presley, Humphrey Bogart and James Dean decorate the velvet walls while music from the late great Buddy Holly plays on the speakers. It is a slow night at the diner, as only a few tables are occupied. I assume the customers are regulars at the diner as they yell back and forth from table to table, talking about the baseball game, something I don't eavesdrop in, for I have no interest in “Americas Pastime.” After our orders are taken, our waitress steps away from the booth and I can't help but notice how drained she looks, she appears to be lacking energy the way she drags her feet back into the kitchen. Maybe she clocked in a double shift, maybe she's just tired of working a dead-end job, or maybe she is just having a bad night. No matter what her problem is, her night is only going to
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
I have always been involved in sports in some way or another. I was team captain in every sport imaginable in elementary school. Junior high I continued to be involved in sports, but it wasn't until high school started that I really got into it. I played soccer, softball and basketball at Rogers High School. I particularly loved soccer. Just playing it gave me a rush I had never felt before. Also knowing that this sport took a lot of hard work and dedication gave me a sense of satisfaction, because I knew that I put everything I had into it. Putting a lot of dedication and hard work into something may prove to be useful in the future.
Let's begin by saying in life success is always achieved with hard work. The sport has taught me that by proving it to myself . Hard work made me become a better soccer player, made me play varsity as a sophomore, and helped me become a varsity captain for my senior year of soccer. This sport has prepared me in life to work hard in school, to get good grades and where I want to be. This quality will help me in college to get the degree I want on time and become successful in life.
My name is Triny Gomez, and my favorite sport is football. The reasons why I am madly in love with this sport are many. I love to run with purpose while staying active, sweat while throwing and catching the football up and down the field, and most of all I love being very competitive as I tackle my opponents. Here is some more elaboration on a few of the reasons why I like football.
Sports play a very important role in my life ever since I could walk. My interests in playing sports began at the age of three as my parents signed me up for soccer, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse. First grade started my competitive edge as I began to play for travel teams in various sport tournaments. This competitive edge transferred from the sports field to the classroom having teachers and coaches helping me be the best I can be. Sports have continually well-shaped and defined my character by teaching me how to accept a win from working hard, also how a loss is an opportunity to learn and fix mistakes.
During my four years of high school I believe that my involvement in sports has helped me become a better person in life. I participated in varsity basketball and Track & Field all four years and my experience in both sports has taught me life lessons that I can carry with me for the rest of my life.
In conclusion, soccer is my favorite sport because, it is an easy and enjoyable game. It releases energy while you play. Teammates make connections which can last from one game to the rest of their lives. The game also has a rich history that shows the game was enjoyed before modern times. If you have not tried the sport I suggest you do, YOU WILL NOT REGRET
I have always had a passion for sports, soccer in particular. For awhile I actually thought if I was good enough I could play professionally. Just imagine being in front of thousands of people who are rooting for you, that was my dream. In gym whenever we would play soccer, I played the hardest I could. I pretended I was in a stadium, sweating beads of accomplishment as I scored goals. When I would play soccer it made me feel like I already had become a professional player. I always felt like I dominated. Looking back, I do not believe I had, but at the time I felt on top of the world. It was something I enjoyed greatly. Soccer made me happy. It made me complete. My road went from being visible to the graveling beginning.
I have constantly loved soccer since the day I began playing in California for my youth soccer group.I had never followed it much and just knew how to play until I moved to India. In America soccer is not that prevalent a game compared to Baseball and American Football however around the globe it is the most famous game on the planet. I have always played football however I had never followed it until I was 14 and that touched off an enthusiasm in me like nothing else.
When I was five years old, my parents signed me up for a softball league. Little did I know, softball would become an immense part of my life for the next twelve years. For a long time, I believed softball was my one and only passion. In realizing that it wasn’t, I saw that art was what I loved to do.
I played a lot of sports growing up, but my main focus was soccer. My mother had put me in soccer when I was around three because I had too much energy, and I don't think she thought soccer was going to be such a big part of my life. I was never really a shy person growing up and I think soccer was a big part of that because I was always around a lot of other people. Also through soccer I had also learned what it meant to be a part of a team and learned how to communicate and work with others. I played soccer in a club league and I also played in middle school and high school. During my club season I had met a lot of girls who were worried about college recruitment. I had never really thought about playing college soccer before until this point.
After my visit to urgent care I discovered more than just a mere broken clavicle bone, I discovered what my right half represented: sports. Prior to the hit, my love of sports had been waning, quite rapidly in fact, and it refused to leave my body. Moreover, its presence was consuming my time, and cluttering my mind, leaving no time for the freshly sparked passions that conflicted with it. Although I don’t celebrate the physical manifestation of my injury, I certainly laud the liberating opportunity it presented to me.
I play soccer because I grew up in Monterrey, Nuevo leon and there everyone I knew played soccer including my dad, cousins, and my friends. Seeing them play grew my interest in the sport. So I started playing myself when I was four, and have always played since then. Even now almost everyone I know plays soccer or is at least interested in it. I play
