Researching topics and journals is only the start of a foundation of what lies ahead for a doctoral student regardless of the type of degree. When conducting research, the student should look for scholarly articles and journals that are peer reviewed. I prefer to use Ebsco since that is what I started with when I began my journey. Effective research will blend in with the point you are trying to relay. When conducting research ensure your authority is truly a scholar with credentials to back the writing up. A respectable source is someone who also took the time and done research to back their opinions or theories.
When writing make drafts and barnstorm ideas onto the paper which can be revised as you go. When gathering information and journals to back the work compiled ensure that the latest and most current articles are used for reference. One can always be objective towards to topics being researched try to have an open mind and remain unbiased in order to let the facts dictate the outcome. …show more content…

Presenting true and accurate information will not only lead to better results but, will save your work from being scrutinized by peers and professors’ alike. When writing papers ensure the information you present has relevance towards the topic at hand. According to Smith and Hatmaker (2011), “Researchers must be able to ask questions relevant to their research and be able to follow up with more pertinent questions thus building on what they already know” (pg.550).
Banaszewski (2014), “tells us that all doctoral students conduct research of some kind. They start with a topic or position which they feel is relevant and begin to list questions to help back what they are concluding is the answer. The researcher can also gather and utilize information from various sources that he/she feels will help the research
