My inspiration to pursue a nursing degree comes from a wide spectrum, ranging from my family to my academic inspirations. For instance, I was inspired to pursue a nursing degree because of the impact that being a part of the medical field provides to the community. Being a nurse will be both a fulfilling and enlightening career that I can enjoy. Nurses are the backbone of patient care and my hope is to be able to contribute to a patient’s proper recovery. As of now medicine is a growing career field with a substantial increase in technological equipment and methods used for diagnosing and treating illnesses. My family has been an inspiration for me since they are the people who have motivated me to find a career that I can enjoy instead of being swayed by the opinion of others. I have always been a science oriented person and being able to have a career that is centered in science motivates me to follow a path in nursing. Ever since I participated in an anatomy and physiology course I have become even more interested in the human body and how each part of the body interacts with one another and with the environment. As a result, I cannot imagine myself in any other career. Consequently, my desire to be able to use the skills that I learned while studying to be a nurse to be able to travel to different countries and provide care to those who need urgent medical care. My belief is that every person should have the right to proper health care has inspired me to covet to travel to other countries where I can contribute my knowledge and skills to teach others nursing student and professionals how to provide care in an efficient manner that can lead to a decrease in the amount of illnesses that the citizens of that country have to face.
