I have a couple of simple interest ranging from playing the guitar to horseback riding and a few complex interests such as being a paramedic, nurse or Interventional cardiologist. I recently discovered what paramedics do and how they do their job. When you look at the healthcare field you see a team of professionals who excel at what they do, when you look at a team of EMS working together you see individuals that are family trying to accomplish the same goal. That goal could be caring for a child in a severe accident to delivering a baby. I would like to also be a nurse because I like to help others. I am currently enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant program and am seeing that nurses aren't only around to take care of wounds and administer drugs, they are their for people in their time of need, regardless of the situation, if its a child is uncomfortable getting a shot and needs some pep talk all the way to helping someone recover from a loved one that died. If there is anything I have learned from failures wether it be trying to cook or to help someone it is never stop trying. Wether it's a cardiologist who just lost a patient from an aortic aneurysm or an EMT who just lost a patient from suicide you never stop learning. If you think you know everything there is then you truly do not know anything. The idea of taking care of someone and providing assistance to a complete stranger is something not many people do. Seeing people at their worst, during a difficult, challenging and frightening moment of their life is not a job many people would take. However, being there for a person at their time of need is what captivates me the most. Nursing, a career I want to pursue and one that is on my to-do list. Being a nurse entails a lot of things; you must be strong, passionate, hardworking, and caring. Becoming a nurse is my ultimate career goal. Looking back on my childhood, I noticed a pattern in the careers I was interested in. At one point, I wanted to be a dentist, a veterinarian, then a forensic investigator and even a medical doctor. It was not until I worked for a year in the ER as a PCA after I graduated from my undergraduate studies that I knew for certain that nursing is where my passion lies. My father’s passing when I was sixteen years old from a heart attack was the motivating factor to go into a profession that is dedicated to the service of others. From a young age, I knew that I wanted a career in the medical field. The thought of potentially saving a life and helping other people made healthcare very appealing to me. I was exposed to first aid techniques early on by my father, and it became a large part of my life as I went on to complete several first aid courses and eventually become a lifeguard. My current job as a lifeguard is something that I enjoy wholeheartedly. There is a huge amount of responsibility that comes with keeping patrons safe and that is not an aspect of all part-time jobs. One particular experience allowed me to realize that helping others is what I am meant to do and showed me how rewarding it really is.

I have been interested in health care professions for most of my life, but more specifically with nursing. My interest in nursing has grown more this past year after I had a conversation with a nurse. She told me that she loved her job and that it was satisfying helping people everyday. She also went on to tell me that it was never boring and that interesting things happened very often. I have researched about careers in nursing and I believe that I would enjoy it because I think that it would be great to be able to help people. Nursing is much more than just a career. To me nursing is helping and bettering the life of the sick or the infirm. Nursing is the practice of providing care for the sick and is a healthcare profession that plays an integral part within everyday life of people around the world, yet many do not know that there is much more to nursing than just that.
There are many roles to play in this drama that is life. It’s an impressive feat to be able to juggle all of these roles. To me, the most important lesson is to keep one role ongoing even though you may have to do the opposite side of it. What I mean by this is never stop being certain because of a question and never stop doctoring if you have to be a patient and never stop teaching while you feel that you must learn.

Nurses: they are one of a kind. In times of considerable hardships from school, I remind myself why I want to be a nurse as my motivation. In middle school, I chose nursing as my career path for various reasons. First and foremost, to me, there is no better feeling than the one that comes from helping another human being. I strongly believe that being helpful is my best quality and I often go out of my way to help anyone in need. Secondly, I know the amount of pain and sorrow that a person can experience when their loved ones are sick or facing death. I want to not only help patients get better, but I also want to offer a significant amount of emotional support to the patient and his or her family. Another reason that I'm dedicated to the nursing
