In this paper I will be discussing the three questions: what does nursing mean to me? What are some of the challenges you will face as a new nurse after graduation? As a nursing professional, where do you see yourself in five years? What does nursing mean to you? A nurse used to be associated with the white starched dress uniform and cap. When someone sees you in that uniform they think someone who is compassionate. Nursing is a job. Nursing is something we will be doing as a living. Growing up I always see myself doing something in the medical field. I wanted to be a doctor but doing my research I found out that it will take years. As a nurse, I want to do things for people that impact them in ways that they remember for a lifetime. And during the most intimate, challenging and frightening moments in life, nurses are right there by the patient’s side providing care, support, and love. This profession is not just for the money, if it is to you then you need to think about changing you’re major. We as nurses are dealing with responsibilities of people lives in our hands. Their love ones trust us with their care. Another thing I love about nursing is that you will never get bored. There is many field to nursing: pediatric, surgical, wound care, and etc. What are some of challenges you will face as anew nurse after graduation? Nursing is a profession that can be both rewarding and challenging at the same time. Some of the challenges are easy to overcome but others are complicated for the nurses to handle. As a student in the nursing program we are attending clinical sites for our clinical rotation. For example, two days ago I was at one of the clinical sites and the staff was short. There were only two nurses on the floor. Walking in that morning I can tell the atmosphere
