The stimulation we had to do for class focused on a piece of land in Cleveland OH that once belonged to a nuclear factory. This land consisted of 4 acres in the north-central section of Ward 12, and adjacent to ward 3. The allotment is positioned closely to many low-income segments of the South Broadway neighborhood. The goal was to come up with an idea on what should replace the decommissioned factory and create the biggest benefit for the community.

There is a scientific difference between people who are talented at math and read diagnostics and people who are inventive and artistic. The left brain is focused on analytics and reasoning, while the right brain bursts with creativity and ingenuity. Though I would hardly consider myself the next Picasso, I know for a fact I would rather sit down with a long book or write than work through the logistics of the quadratic equation. However, taking advanced levels of science and math has placed me in many situations where gifted ‘left brain’ students let us lowly right brained kids know our worth. Personally, I feel as if the world and our society could not go on as it does without both types of people; who will be the accountant for the scatterbrained artist? Who will draw a smile from the stiff audience of number crunchers?
