The managerial role is one that requires a person to adapt to be able to adapt and adjust as company changes are made. The purpose of this paper is to explore how supervisors and newly appointed supervisors handle management changes, stress, conflicts, and time management.
The company is making some staffing changes in order to account for retiring supervisors. In the wake of the upcoming announcements, upper management has to reevaluate all of their employees to decide on who to promote.

As a new supervisor, your ability to adapt to the new managerial changes can have a lasting and positive effect on career progression. Managers are result driven and being able to change your course of action, with positive results, shows great leadership skills.
How to Handle Stress
Reducing job-related stress requires a clear understanding of the definition of stress, its causes, and coping and management strategies. Leaders first must learn to exercise techniques that help recognize, cope, and manage stress within themselves, while also providing education and support for employees. (Stickle and Scott, 2016, p. 28)
The task as a supervisor is to be able to handle their own personal issues and the stresses that your employees may have. Being able to recognize when one of your employees is stressed out shows that you took out some time to get to know them. Relational conflict consists of affective mechanisms such as friction related to interpersonal mismatches. This type of conflict has the possibility to create negative social emotions. Task conflict is a consciousness of differences in opinion related to the group assignment. Process conflict relates to disagreements as to how the assignment will be completed and the overall task achieved. (Hopkins and Yonker, 2015, p. 227)
The task as a supervisor is to be as unbiased as possible. When conflicts arise, supervisors must listen to all parties involved in order to come up with the best solution that will benefit everyone. A supervisor should diffuse the conflict as soon as they are made aware of any conflict.
The tasks as a frontline employee in a conflict situation would be to not take sides because of any personal connections and maintain a calm and steady tone. Also, they should not judge the situation at hand because the goal is to resolve the conflict.
