A Christmas Carol, was one of the most popular fiction Dickens ever wrote, which was published in 1843. As a young child I remember watching this movie, it made me feel all warm about Christmas. The very first time I watched it, I cried. I felt so bad for all the people I felt he was been mean too, I had to be like 7-8 years old.
The main character of the movie was Mr. Scrooge, he started off as a greedy, and selfish person. Scrooge hated Christmas, at first I thought it had something to do with the passing of his firend. However after a long and adventurous night with three ghost/spirits, Scrooge gain a different outlook on life. The first ghost was from the past, he reflected back on him youth day. This ghost showed him a flash of the day
After the previous spirit disappeared, Scrooge looks up to find the final spirit, The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The phantom remains silent and simply takes Scrooge toward the city, where they eavesdrop on a few conversations between people. One of them was between two men who were talking about how someone had recently died. They retorted about how nobody liked the man and, consequently, they expected nobody to show up to the funeral. The twain continued to another pair of businessmen who had also heard the news that someone had died, but did not care. Scrooge, oblivious as to who they were talking about, tries to ask the spirit some questions, in which the spirit doesn’t respond. The phantom just drags Scrooge to a nearly abandoned

A Christmas Carol is a Novell by Charles Dickens about Ebenezer Scrooge , an old man,who is outstanding for his parsimonious ways.
Robin Sharma, a famous writer, once said, “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” Many people believe that change is a very big decision. It takes time and can get a little messy on the way. The truth, however, is a small decision, Like donating money for the poor in need. Unfortunately, in the play, A Christmas Carol, the main character, Scrooge, is a selfish miser. Fortunately, by the end of the play, Scrooge realizes that he was selfish and no good and changed his ways. For example, he donated to the poor.
Another way to show this is the way he talks to people, e.g. when his

The drama of A Christmas Carol is a very popular selection as it brings out the Christmas spirit of even the stone-hearted. It starts with a grumpy old man named Ebenezer Scrooge. He dislikes Christmas and wants nothing to do with it. In order for him to gain his Christmas spirit back he is taken to his past, present, and future by three different ghosts. Doing this helps him to realize what Christmas is about. The turning point of the play is when Scrooge sees his own grave. This made him fully understand what he has done and what needs to be fixed. Ebenezer makes many
A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens is a tale of the morality changes of a man. The uncharitable, cold heart of the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, melts with ardent love as he receives visitations from three Christmas spirits who enlighten his soul with wise lessons and bring a warm change to his heart. In the beginning of the novel, Scrooge expresses his vices of greed and cold heartedness by his words and actions, but as the story unfolds, his life is renewed by these Spirits who shed light and truth upon him, resulting in making him become a better man, portraying the virtue of charity.
The title to the novella 'A Christmas Carol' this suggests that the story will be a joyful Christian message. 'Christmas' is a time for celebration and togetherness. It is the time for forgiveness, kindness and charity. 'Carol' is a chant which a group of people sing Christmas and Christian songs, so this is meant to be a time where people have fun and are united with family and friends.
Dickens portrays Scrooge as being a mean old man that wants nothing to do with anyone throughout the beginning of the novel. As a young boy many family members played a huge role in Scrooge’s life. It is easy to tell as a young boy, Scrooge loved his family although his father was extremely hard on him. His sister is the only member of his home-family that has a scene in the story. It seems as if that she was the only one who truly loved him. Whenever the ghost of Christmas past takes Scrooge back to the time his sister came and told him that she was taking him back home he was filled with joy. The ghost was sure to remind him that his sister passed away when giving birth to Fred. This really effected how Scrooge looked at Fred later in life. As hard as Scrooge was towards Fred, Fred never gave up on getting Scrooge to enjoy Christmas. “His nephew, Fred, and Bob Cratchit represent the salving spirit of Christmas. They have never abandoned hope and faith” (Gold 153). Scrooge’s relationship with his family is critical to the plot of the story. All of his hard times growing up led to Scrooge’s jealousy of Fezziwig’s wealth and charm. Scrooge’s determination to be like Mr. Fezziwig turned him into the exact opposite of his goal. “Dickens contrasts Scrooge, “excellent man of business,” with old Fezziwig, the master of his apprenticeship days. Fezziwig was a “reasonable” employer; he worked his men hard and fairly, be he was able to play occasionally, and he did not he did not hesitate to spend money at Christmastime for the entertainment and jollification of his employees” (Davis 122). Scrooge’s drive ended up being his
A Christmas Carol like many of Dickens' novels is set mainly in London sometime in the middle of the 19th century. I think this because that’s where Dickens is from and that is where the problems are occurring for example poverty.
