Scrooge was now in his room, but he wasn’t his regular self. He strangely had a good attitude and was very cheerful. This was all in the reflection of the ghosts. Now he had one mission and that was to make things right. Furthermore he thought. He then assumed that it was all over and Christmas was over. He asked a nearby citizen the day. He told him it was Christmas, it wasn’t too late! He now was on an adventure to fix his actions. For example, he bought and sent anonymously the biggest turkey he could find so the Cratchits didn’t have to settle on goose. He continued around the town being blithesome. Everyone was dumbfounding by his behavior. He made his way to his nephew Fred’s house. His family and he had a feast. According to the text
Lao Tzu once said that “If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” This quote means that if you stay on a bad path you are eventually going to end in a bad spot. People need to change themselves if they don’t want to end their life in a negative way. If you stay on the right path then your end will be much better. Scrooge needs to change because he knows what his future is like and how he will end up when he dies. Scrooge was visited by three ghosts and he was able to change himself for the better good.
This was shown in a variety of ways, starting with how he becomes charitable, and gracious. In particular, Scrooge decided to help the less fortunate, and donated a generous amount of his wealth. In the meantime, Scrooge became a friendly, sociable man, and changed his mind, accepting his nephew’s invitation for Christmas dinner. Accordingly, he engages in the conversation, and succeeded in enlightening the night. One last way Scrooge changes is that he decided to use his wealth for good. To do that, he quite graciously gave Cratchit a raise, and brought journals for the children to note their wonderful ideas and stories in. Aside from that, the raise Cratchit received would have brought his family out of poverty. Overall, Scrooge finds the goodness in his heart, and altered his unpleasant
Do you believe a person can change? Well, in the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” we see Ebenezer Scrooge change from a cold and heartless old man to a warm soul ready to spread Christmas joy. In the exposition of the plot we are introduced to Scrooge a miser as people call him, a cold and heartless man. He runs the business Scrooge & Marley’s. But his partner Marley is dead, seven years dead to be exact. On Christmas eve, he is visited by his nephew, the nephew wishes him a merry Christmas, and scrooge to that replies “Bah! Humbug!” ‘Christmas a humbug” the nephew answers, after arguing some more, Scrooge states “What’s Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money; a time for finding yourself a year older, and
Even a selfish person can change and become generous, whether through supernatural events, physical events, or through their own will. Ebenezer Scrooge learns that he must either repent of his greedy ways, or face the consequence later on. When Scrooge is visited by the first spirit, the Ghost of Christmas past, he is shown events from his boyhood that he had forgotten about for many years. This makes Scrooge emotional, as it brings back the memories of himself, poor and forgotten. The second spirit, the Ghost of Christmas Present, shows Scrooge the happiness and merrimaking of Christmas. Even those who were poor and had scarcely any food made the most of it, and were very joyful and kind to one another. The last of the spirits, the
Scrooge should change his ways for many reasons. Scrooge has a very bad life and will always be that way unless he changes. Scrooge can be nice or be happy at least instead of being bad and mean. Other people should not be treated bad just because they like something Scrooge doesn’t like.
As the protagonist of the play, Scrooge’s decisions and actions are central to the theme and development of the production as a whole. Throughout the first part of the play it becomes obvious that a cycle of greed, misery and loneliness surrounds Scrooge. In the first half of the play, the plot enters a period of discovery as the spirit of Christmas past visits Scrooge and it is here that the viewer sees the beginnings of Scrooge’s greed. As his father is sent to prison for his debt he tells Scrooge to “save your pennies, make a fortune and keep it!” Scrooge keeps this saying with him throughout his life eventually building a habit of greed. When both Scrooge’s mother and sister die, there is nothing else but his gold to embrace. Gold becomes a central figure in his life and later he starts to push people away as his greed grows. In his proposal to the love of his life Belle, he says that he must make more money before they are married. As a result of his greed, time is consumed and Belle leaves Scrooge with no one to hold onto but his gold. As gold is the only stable thing in his life he grows to appreciate it more than human relationships, growing his need for more. This is clearly shown when Scroo...
What did the other men who came to the warehouse want? What was Scrooge’s reply to them?
According to the text, Scrooge is a very grumpy person, he is a very angry person. The author also states in the text that Scrooge is greedy too. Based on what I have read in the text I think that Scrooge is a cold hearted person, who is cruel and very angry all the time. The text states that Scrooge is all head, no heart. He is a miserable, bitter old miser. That tells you that Scrooge hates all irrational things. For example, like happiness, friendly, kind, caring, cheerful, bright, loving, thoughtful, and sweet. He is not a joyful person so we probably know he hates Christmas. On page 3 it says that Scrooge hates Christmas. In the text it phrases that Scrooge says “What’s Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money;
A miserable and hateful person, Scrooge is a bad man and he does not care about anyone besides himself. Consequently, he gets a visit from three ghosts. The text states that he didn’t even want to go to his nephews Christmas dinner, he said “Christmas puts the human race in debt and that people should work on Christmas to help cover the debt he”. According to the text someone tried to help charity and he said that they should go to jail or they should go to a workhouse! On page 1 I did notice that he was very lonely when Marley died and that they started a business together, maybe that made him act like a miserable old freak but who knows he just does not like Christmas. But also on page 1 and 2 I noticed that he was very inappropriate to his
