The grit theory require to be determine, direct, passion and perseverance. The mindset theory is based off a fixed and growth mindset. When you have a fixed mindset you have the tendency to doubt yourself more, you’ll feel like you need to prove yourself to others and you tend to be fearful of your mistakes. For example of someone who has a fixed mindset who is dealing with a setback will respond to the solution like “I’m a failure or I’m an idiot”. When you have a growth mindset you think more positive, you learn from your mistake and try hard next time. For an example of someone who has a growth mindset who is dealing with a setback will respond to the solution like “I failed” or “I’ll try harder next time”.
When I took the questionnaire of test for Grit I score a 4.0. On the scale of grit if you score a 5 the highest score you are extremely gritty and you score a 1 the lowest score on the scale you are not gritty at all. Since I score a 4 I am right on the point of being extremely gritty. I agree with this because I very ambitious. When I was a freshmen in high school I had to take physics. I didn’t really take this class serious. I wasn’t doing my homework and kept getting distracted by other things in the class room so I ended up failing the class. When I spoke to my guidance counselor about it she told me I didn’t have to repeat the class. By the time I became a senior in high school they told me I needed the class to graduate. I felt a little embarrassed because I had to retake the class with freshmen. I was able to pass the class this time because I was more focus and I needed it to graduate.
Grit or mindset theory will influence with my next experience with failure because it will have a better mindset with accept failure and knowing that it is okay to fail and try
