As I mentioned earlier, after taking this class I now feel that I better understand what mindfulness is and how it can be used to help benefit me in my future endeavors. As an accounting and business analytics major with strong interests in health and fitness, I believe that by living more mindfully I can not only benefit my professional growth, but also enhance my relationships with myself and those around me. This is for several reasons. Typically those who follow careers in accounting or business analytics tend to work long hours in semi-stressful situations. This would allow me to take on clients over the Internet and coach them in bettering themselves, by helping them to reach their goals through diet and strength training. Some important mindfulness techniques that I feel can help me to be a better coach for my clients includes focusing on just what is going on in the present moment, whether it be a client interaction, or bettering my content to help my clients. Another useful tool will be my ability to mindfully communicate with others to get the most out of client interactions, allowing me to cater to their needs rather than waste both their and my time in a non-value added interaction. This relates with the plans that I plan to put together as well. So often people sign up for these types of online coaching services and end up getting a “cookie cutter” plan that is not truly geared towards them. I plan to differentiate myself by truly focusing on my clients needs and rather than going on autopilot, which would not be beneficial to my clients, I would instead stay in the present moment and realize that I need to put in my effort so that they can in turn put in their effort and make a change in their life. Whether this be by putting training plans together that fit their needs, or helping them to understand nutrition and the importance of a healthy relationship with food, I feel that I can
