There are many important roles when it comes to management, leadership is a very important one. The ability to lead, is very significant in today’s world. Leadership is a quality possessed by someone that allows that person to naturally lead a group of people and not worry about what others may think and or say. Having this quality, someone should be able to easily lead a group the way it should be lead.
There are different types of leadership, the top three a good leader should know are strategic, transformational, and charismatic. Charismatic leadership is a type of influence based on the leader’s charisma. Charismatic leaders are expected to have a lot of confidence in their beliefs and ideas and a strong need to influence people. They often feel the need to communicate expectations about performance. Martin Luther King Jr was a strong charismatic leader. If it was not for his strong beliefs and ideas to put an end to racism we could still be living in a racism world.
Strategic leadership is a leader’s ability to understand the complexities of both the organization and its environment and to lead change in the organization so as to enhance its competitiveness. Transformational leaders are visionary and they are transform organization by getting their groups to accomplish a lot more than they intend or though was possible. As a transformational leader it is important to make their groups feels that they are a vibrant part of the organization, to show how their jobs or roles fit in. It is good to link people and organization together because the people will feel that they will prosper if their job or organization is prospering
