I remember it like it was just yesterday. Maria and I sat together on blankets beneath the large willow tree in the park. The sun shone through the leaves, highlighting her natural features. She was a beautiful woman. She had long dark hair with natural light streaks of gold. The nurse steps out of a room carrying my file. The memory fades, and I find myself sitting in the hallway of a hospital. “Would you like to begin therapy, Mr. Diaz?” the nurse asked. “Sure.” I walked inside the small room and sat in the metal chair that sat in the center of the room.
