1. One primary long term goals that I have set for myself since freshman year was getting the best grades in high school and college to my own abilities. The way I reach this goal is that I use my time wisely in study halls or at home to get homework done. I work extremely hard in study halls to get as much homework done as I can because the less I take home the better because there are other things at home that I could be doing. One of my short term goal that I set a lot in school is getting my homework assignment done in the twenty minutes the teacher gave us to work on it in class. To accomplish that I get in the zone and focus to get the homework assignment finished in the time limit. I also set goals that are short-term but have a long lasting effect. One goal like that is that I have tried eating healthier and drink less pop. The way I accomplished this goal was by having my own recipes to make something really good with healthy food so it is better for me. I try not to overload myself with too many short term goals because they could get confusing in my head with me striving for too many different things I would be out of time. I give back to others and the community by being involved in a lot of different groups. Being involved with FFA we take time and do community projects that people ask us to do for them. We have put in concrete driveways and sidewalks for different people in the community and they always have great things to say about our work. Another thing I help with by being a part of FFA that has done for the community is that we have cleaned up the local park’s basketball/tennis court when it flooded and the court had a lot of mud, rocks, and sticks all over the court. One other thing we have done in FFA is varnish the cabins in the local park. Last year we also helped out with the new daycare they were setting up for the community, we helped build the parking lot and put the fence in around the daycare. Also, to help out the community our baseball team has helped out put up flags within the cemetery for memorial day. Short term goals are just goals that I want to complete, but aren't on my main list of activities to complete. I am really into taking pictures with my professional camera. This is a hobby that started a few years ago, but never started until last year or so. That is because I didn’t have a camera. I now have a very nice camera and I love it. One goal that I work hard at daily is to try to do well in high school. I try to involve myself in any activity that I can, both academically and socially, so that I can graduate with honors. Pondering about my future, I was able to identify three goals to work towards to better my life. The first goal is personal, my fiancé and I have been trying to save for a house and a car and this is the year we are going to make the purchases. My second goal is professional, in the future, I would ideally like to be a social worker. However, thinking about the immediate future, I would like to find a job that will give me real world experience in my chosen field of study. Finally, my third goal pertains to my on-line education. My goal is to graduate on-time with honors, and I am willing to work arduously for it. Every new school year, every student has certain goals that they wish to accomplish by the end of the year. Setting goals throughout the school year are a good way to track where one started at the beginning of the year, and ended at the end of the year. Senior year goals are by far the most important. In order to have a successful first semester in college I must set a foundation of goals so I know what I want my end result to be. With the help of the SMART goals critia I will be able to set goals that are attainable. The criteria for SMART goals have five requirements, they must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and have a time limit. With the intention to incorporate these five steps my goals should be a great foundation for this first semester.

In college there are short term goals that I have to achieve if I want to be a successful college student. My three short term goals that is plan to do is pass my final exam, pass my U.S. History Eoc, and pass my research paper. To ensure I achieve these short term goals I will have to make a weekly schedule so I can make time to study and acquire the knowledge for my Eoc. The amount of time I will study each day will be one hour then as each day goes by my knowledge will increase due to the new pathways I am creating in my brain. Another way to ensure I achieve my goals is to make some alone time for myself and slow down on going out with my friends. I have a lot of goals that I have achieved and still want to achieve in life. First off I graduated high school with a advanced diploma. I worked so hard so that I could have the satisfaction of saying that I accomplished something that I set as a goal. Yes, there were ups and downs but life is a constant roller coaster and as long as you remember that life isn't easy and there will always be things in life that bring you down, but you also have to remember to work hard and push through to achieve success. There are people in my family that didn't graduate high school and I see the constant struggle that they face each and everyday. I looked at that and that helped me want more and be successful in everything I do. When I was a little girl I was always told that I could do anything that I put my mind to. So graduating high school was one goal that I reached by applying what I was always told eventually putting a fire in me to want to achieve it more. My parents did not go to college and I see things they struggle through sometimes so this has been one of my goals since I could remember. When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.
