It was the hot humid day when I got off the airplane from South Korea to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. As soon as I entered New York airport, it was a new transition to my life. I can still remember those special moments at the airport that reminds me of the image of New York. You might think it is weird to choose a photograph of John F. Kennedy Airport that represents the image of New York and essential to me. However, it is a personal place that reminds me of New York. I used to hear about my dad living in New York from my mom. Also, it is such a famous city around the world. It was the dream city where I was always wanted to go and curious about. Also, many international people and American employees at the airport gave me an idea how New York is huge diversity culturally and visually. An airport is an interesting place that combined images of New York in my mind.

Now I am so proud of myself that I am going to one of the top art schools in New York. The most important thing is that I had freedom as I can feel the passion and respect from the huge American flag at the airport. If I have stayed in Korea, I probably had to go to school early in the morning and come back home at twelve A.M. and do homework and this would have been in repetition for six years. Compared to the lives of Korean students in South Korea, I am so thankful for my dad and the airport that made me feel special and strong to give me an opportunity that I would have never imagined to happen in my life.
