President Kennedy’s assassination was one thing that countless Americans will be talking about for many generations. John F. Kennedy’s assassination affected many people and still affects people to this day. He did a lot for our country and was a very loved president. President Kennedy was an excellent president. His assassination affected many people in America.
When president Kennedy became president in 1961, an abundance of African Americans in the South were denied the right to vote, and could not expect justice from the courts. In 1960 the presidential campaign, civil rights had come out as a critical issue. A few weeks later, Martin Luther King Jr was arrested for leading a group of people through the streets of Atlanta, Georgia.

Kennedy's death affected our nation in many ways. People who run, walk, drive, and even work near Dealey Plaza have flashbacks to the day when they witnessed their president being killed on national television (Minutaglio). The image is etched into their brain and every once in awhile it resurfaces. Many think the assassination changed Dallas forever. President Kennedy’s personality left a lasting impression on America. JFK was everything people wanted in a president, he was skillful, his personal appeal was loved by everyone, and his youthfulness, made him such a hard president to replace (Minutaglio). Many presidents were close to the great appeal president Kennedy had like, president Reagan, president Clinton, and even president Obama (History.com Staff). President Kennedy was a very poor president. But however president Kennedy was a very brilliant president. When he was sworn into office, he said these tremendous words “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Mr. Kennedy established the Peace Corps, which was huge in America. He also prevented nuclear war. He did many things to make America better. The assassination of JFK was a very depressing day for many people in America. In conclusion John F. Kennedy did many good things for our country, he was a excellent and young president. John F. Kennedy was an irreplaceable president and did many great things like the civil right movement.

This heartening quote was provided by a man who literally shot for the stars all the way up until the day he was shot down. While being the youngest and first Roman Catholic president, John F. Kennedy always influenced America to strive for the best. Until an unbearable silence struck the American people, he was removed from society in 1963. There were numerous believed causes regarding Kennedy’s death. There is the belief that Oswald shot him as a lone gun man. There are also other theories that state that there could have been more than one gun man. Some people even presuppose that the CIA is hiding the real story. Some effects of the assassination were catastrophic to the American people. We will never know if some of the Vietnam results would have commutated. Another effect was more of an emotional one. Many Americans were vulnerable, and they felt as if America would not be able to recover from this vast bereavement. Regardless, there are causes and effects when evaluating the John F. What if moments such as what if Kennedy sent troops during the Bay of Pigs or what if Kennedy listened to his advisors during the Cuban Missile Crisis serve as some examples. Coupled with this “what if” perception, the more time passes since the incidents, the more complex the possibilities become. History is based on contingencies, a random catalyst, and the effects of prior actions. Every action is based on, the often random, event before it, and said action goes on to influence events later on in the historical timeline. History is a cycle of cause and effect, action and reaction, where a change in the action changes the later reactions. Kennedy gained the support of African American voters. Many will argue that this support started when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was arrested. John F. Kennedy spoke to Coretta Scott King about her husband’s release from prison. “‘He was in contact with officials in Georgia during my arrest and he called my wife, made a personal call and expressed his concern and said to her that he was working and trying to do something to make my release possible,’” (CNN) said Dr. King on an audio tape. This wasn’t the only contribution Kennedy made to the Civil Rights Movement during his campaign. John F. Kennedy spoke out on the issues pertaining to African Americans. This included desegregation, racial tension in the workplace and poor living conditions. (John F. Many felt as though the issue was very important in Kennedy’s eyes and that he would bring real change for African Americans. This was very important because when the 1960 Nixon and Kennedy election came around, almost 70% of African American votes went to Kennedy. (John F. What is the first thing you come up with your head when I say “Who free the blacks or the colors?” The first thing that comes into mind is Abraham Lincoln, a man who free them but why was there the civil right? The civil right started 1954 and slaves were freed in 1863. How are BLACKS (or colors) free today? The thing is there was a man who stops it and you might know him as a president, a white male, a nice man, famous for the Cuban Missile Crisis, famous for the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty, famous for the Alliance for Progress, famous for his own assassination, famous for his idea of the space race, famous for the pt 109 but never in the civil right movement. It was the one and only John F Kennedy. He impacted the civil right in many ways and there are three main keys and after this essay, you will see that Abraham Lincoln did something but JFK did a big impact even when killed.
John F. Kennedy’s speech was revered then and it is revered now. He talks on peace and freedom will never be forgotten. JFK arrived when America was going through a rough patch and delivered a speech for the ages. His line “…My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country” still applies even today. Even though John F. Kennedy’s live was tragically cut short in 1963, his speech on freedom and peace will always be remembered and it carries on with JFK’s legacy.

Kennedy was afraid to move forward in the civil rights battle, so a young preacher named Martin Luther King began a campaign of nonviolent marches and sit-ins and pray-ins in Birmingham, Alabama to try and force a crisis that the President would have to acknowledge. Eventually things became heated and Police Commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor released his men to attack the protesters, which included many schoolchildren. President Kennedy picked up the situation at the close of the Eisenhower years at a time when tensions were rapidly increasing. By the summer of 1963, however, after a series of violent demonstrations in the South, particularly in Birmingham, Alabama, President Kennedy pushed for a very strong civil rights bill in Congress. The first of its kind since the Civil War, this bill drastically called for the end of all segregation in all public places. In the eyes of the civil rights movement leaders, this bill was long over due.
