IntroductionCommunity is a group of people who share some type of connection, who interrelate with each other and who function mutually regarding shared concerns. Community participation refers to a change in emphasis from external agencies supplying health services, to the people of a community becoming active participants in their own health care. This means that the community members become partners in health care by generating their own ideas; assessing their needs, by involvement in decision making processes, planning, implementing, and even evaluating the care they receive (Mchunu, 2005). There are certain features which can be seen only from a participative community. People from such communities are healthier both socially and mentally. 1) First of all, in a participating community several numbers of people are involved in the community’s activities such as beach cleaning programs, sports activities and dengue controlling activities. 2) Secondly, in a participating community, people from all the groups get involved and they divide the responsibilities/activities in a way that people with special talents and interests are contributed to the activities. They would have distributed the power and responsibilities equally. 3) In a participating community they conduct their activities or the programmes in an open way rather than keeping it private. 4) In a participating community every single idea or opinion is welcomed and treated with respect. They do not consider any opinion as a bad idea. 5) In a participating community there is no discrimination among various groups. They treat everyone equally regardless their race, religion or ethnicity. 6) People from a participative community behave more openly and they live more open
