After attending the class Professional Collaboration and Communication, I have learned solidly how I want to communicate with families, friends, and co-workers in my future career. With families, I will be sure to respect their values and understand that they might see behaviors differently than I do. I learned this idea from my principal interview and my parent interview that I conducted in the field on October 11th, and November 12th. I’ve learned from these interviews that everyone is different and comes from different backgrounds. The first step I would take to create a positive environment would be not to complain. As I learned from lecture on September 10th, 2016, a room full of complaining can really affect the way one works. Also, from personal experience, I’ve learned that complaining can spread fast and it can often times hurt and drag down others. In order for me to create a positive classroom, I will implement a positive classroom by hanging posters about positivity and how important it is. I want my students to work in a room that’s full of fun and happiness. I never want anyone to feel as if they are in a room full of doubt and negativity. I will also create a positive environment by addressing behaviors in a positive manner. If a student is not doing their work, or struggling to do their work, I will not make comments like “I don’t like that you’re not working”, instead, I will make it my best effort to say comments like “You’ve gotten all those problems done, nice job, keep going!”. I believe it’s so important to boost children’s confidence and make them feel welcome. Some children as mentioned by Lambie, 2008 have a rough life at home with a dysfunctional family, I want my classroom to be their home if it has to be. I believe positive relationships with my students is the biggest and most important step in creating an overall positive environment as a teacher. I will also use positive communication skills to create positive relationships with those inside my classroom or outside the classroom. In conclusion, I feel like the most important thing I can do to create a positive learning environment is model all of the behaviors I expect my kids to learn and be able to model themselves. My kids should be able to learn appropriate and inappropriate behaviors from the skills they acquired from watching models. My children must be motivated and feel as though they can learn and model the behaviors presented, or they will never try to reach any type of goals set before them. Overall, I want to increase their self-efficacy so they feel they can achieve goals I have set before them or ones they have made themselves.

The job of a teacher is never easy but we have seen how cooperative discipline and enabling students to feel capable, connected and contributing can improve classroom management and maybe even our own moods. Sometimes a student is successful in one area and having difficulty in another or a student has trouble using their words to communicate and becomes aggressive. At this center, the teachers have the tools to assess each child and the parents are interested in knowing the strengths and supports their child needs. As conferences occur every 6 months, parents also communicate with the school and teachers via email and during drop off and pick up times. There are many different benefits to having diverse dynamics within a team. Communication seems to be the key to making the dynamics of a team work. A team is very much an interpersonal relationship with many potential benefits as well as pitfalls. The dynamics can often cause conflict within that team which can negatively affect the team's performance. It is common for people on a team to try to ignore or bury problems due to a desire to not create a scene. This can be very destructive because the issues do not get resolved. There are some specific steps that can be taken to resolve that conflict. When it comes to resolving an issue, the methods of doing so can be as dynamic as the team itself.
As stated earlier, I believe Classroom Management is the key to how learning can take place and students can feel safe participating. I hope to create an environment that is conducive to learning and involves all my students. Effective communication provides a foundation for trust and respect to grow. It also helps better understand a person and the context of the conversation. Individuals often believe that their communication skills are much better than what they actually are. Communication appears effortless; however, much of what two people discuss gets misunderstood, thus leading to conflicts and distress. To communicate effectively, one must understand the emotion behind the information being said. Knowing how to communicate effectively can improve relationships one has at home, work and in social affairs. Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
As discussed throughout this paper we build our classroom management plans based on our past experiences, our knowledge, our professional learning and our very own personal reflection. The importance of our beliefs, values and our philosophy play a major role in our planning.
