Good morning everyone, my name is Lindsey Baglio and I have been honored to serve as the commencement orator for the Curry College class of 2017. President Quigley, faculty, family, friends, and fellow graduates, I am honored to speak to you today as we reach another milestone in our lives. First, I’d like to thank the administration and faculty here at Curry for their hard work and dedication, because let’s face it, without them half of us wouldn’t be here. Throughout our time here we had friends turn into family and now, professors who will turn into colleagues. I can remember one of the first classes I took here and the professor looked at our class and said, I am not going to hold your hand, you are my colleague. Thank you Dr. Ann Leonard-Zabel and Dr. Carey, for pushing me to do my best and to pursue my dreams. As the first member of my family to graduate from college, I have taken what my professors have told me to heart and never took their advice for granted. So, I thank every one of you who has made this college experience what it is and those who have supported me and my fellow classmates (even if we weren’t the easiest to deal with). We have gotten a great education here at Curry, which has been a great stepping stone …show more content…
Without their encouragement and support I would not be standing on this stage speaking to you. I can remember the day that I told my mom my dreams of being a pediatric clinical psychologist, and her response was “as long as you don’t put me in a nursing home, you follow your dreams!” So, mom and dad today is a day that I am dedicating to you. And to my siblings (all nine of you), thank you for being my backbone and support system growing up. I hope that as you sit there staring at me on this stage, I hope that you know to follow your dreams and to push yourself to be your best even if you face battles along the
I first would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who attended Madison and Zack’s wedding. For those of you who don’t know me on the Leydig side i’m Nicole, Madison’s best friend since we were little girls. I am honored to stand her, and be apart of her special day. This is the day that we have been planning on since we were nine years old. We had a big scrapbook full of pictures, and the wedding was planned down to the month and date.
If anyone has influenced me while in the school, it is you. Every conversation with Mrs. Peterson during shop, or every discussion Mr. Pedrosa at his desk during class, I appreciate every bit of knowledge I have gained from the staff of Old Colony. As being a generally shy student, the teachers really took point in caring about me as a student and individual. They respected me, cared for me, and most importantly taught me, academically and morally. Each employee set an example of what an high school educator and human being should be. I will genuinely miss the “Hi Jazz’s,” I hear while walking down the hall whether it be from Trahan, Kessler, or Mrs. Gonet. So, thank you to all Old Colony staff for making me feel like a young adult, respecting my ideas, and guiding me in the right direction, not only academically and technically, but morally. You, as a school, have welcomed me beyond my belief and have embraced me farther than being a student but as an
I did not realize that I was getting more than just that. I got to meet some of the most dedicated and hardworking professors I have ever met like Dr. Dennis Kimbro. I got to experience seminars and lectures with people like Marc Lamont Hill. And to be a part of a rich and growing legacy here at Clark Atlanta University. Through Clark Atlanta University, I learned how to be a better person all around and how to succeed, because success does not come without failure.
Hello class, I want to thank you for the honor of letting me speak. Guys! We made it! At our time here I feel that we have endured through so many events. That leave great stories and memorable moments.
Today, as we graduate, with degree nearly in hand, I challenge each of you to make a difference in whatever you do. Remember that life didn't end when we re-entered school. Life continued throughout our program. Even when stretched to the limit, life only got more challenging. And now, graduating, life only changes pace. Our degree completion is not really an ending as much as a new beginning as we re-enter our lives of work and home. We thank all of our family, friends, instructors and co-workers who helped see us through this process. Thank you for this opportunity and good luck to you all.

My heart was beating rapidly, my breathing was uncontrollable and I began to run cold water down my hands in the sink of the Chapel. I absolutely cannot believe that this is happening to me right now on the greatest day of my entire life. I have waited for this once-in-a-lifetime moment ever since I was twelve years old and I met the love of my life, Jada Lee. Today is the day that I am publicly going to announce my great love for her and I am horrified that I am going to mess up and ruin our wedding. I have had severe anxiety attacks ever since I can remember, but I shouldn’t be nervous about today.
Good evening, everyone. Today, we’re here to honour the bride and groom. As the bride’s best friend, I feel honoured to be standing here on such an important day of her life. We have been through a lot and so much together in life, and I cannot imagine being anywhere else but here on my best friend's wedding day.
Dad as I sit her reflecting back over my life, my up and my downs, reminiscing on how fortunate I am to have you as a father and a leader. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being such a wonderful and caring father! Thank you for being my friend and my tea partner! Thank you for taking me to my first dance!
Good evening, family and friends. I would like to thank you all for coming to celebrate and honor the marriage of Colt and Jennifer Moller. As the groom’s sister, I would like to thank Colt for being the absolute best role model, positive influence, and brother that I could have possibly imagined. You have truly shown me what it has meant to love and cherish each and every moment of every day. Although we have had a few bumpy roads in the past, I know that I can always turn to you for support and guidance.
Hi everybody, for those who don’t know me, I’m Lindsey’s cousin Jaime. On behalf of the bridesmaids and myself we would like to recognize and thank _____ and Kathy Zarwi for being such amazing hosts! I know I am not alone when I say, it has been quite a day; a day to be cherished and unforgotten, a day that celebrates two people who fell in love. As kids, Lindsey and I spent a lot of time together, getting into who knows what trouble- as our moms would say, silence was never good thing when the two of us were together. But, for my speech I've decided not to tell any embarrassing stories because it would also be embarrassing to me...
I stand here today, full of grief and guilt, that my beautiful wife, the daughter of Scotland, died here a cálend ago because of my erroneous doing. Today we have assembled here at, Dunkland cemetery to honour and pay our respects to this adoring wife, nurturing mother and daughter of Scotland. My wife was the epitome of loyalty, faithfulness and kindness but because of my selfishness and cunningness my beautiful wife tragically died. She was and still is my queen, filled with warmth, kindness and benevolence; unlike that cruel, disheartened “tyrant (’s)” wife.
What day is it? Oh My Gosh, it is the love of my life’s BIRTHDAY. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MI SUPERMAN! Baby, you are finally 17, that's a big deal. It is time to take on new roles and responsibilities.
First of all, I'd like to welcome all the parents, relatives and friends, on behalf of the senior class. It has been a long, hard road to graduation and I know your presence here is greatly appreciated. My job as salutatorian is to reminisce on our past here at County High, a past that reads like a script of a soap opera.
Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the graduating class for selecting me to speak here tonight. Ever since the news broke, many people, some who've I've never really met before, have come up to me and have wished me well. Perhaps this speech would be incomplete if I don’t say something to the teachers. On the behalf of my entire class, I would like to thank all my teachers: thank you. Thank you for teaching us, for leading us, for building us up as adults. I know that we have not given back to you the respect you deserve. I know that we have not told you how much we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to help us. And I know that we have not said thank you for giving us a wonderful education. So, I hope that as I say thanks, you can forget our shortcomings and remember us for who we are and not from the mistakes we have made. ...
