Freedom for the Braves Being an American means much a greater amount than just a section filled out on a person’s birth certificate. Being an American is an honor, and something to be proud of. Here, thousands of people have a choice in what religion to believe in, what to eat, and what to do. People even have the right to point out who should be this tremendous nation's leader. Here, people are given opportunities in every corner. However, this freedom has been achieved thousands of men and women were willing to give their lives, in one way or another, in order for people to live the way they do today. Americans seem to be proud to be able to say “The Pledge of Allegiance” since they appreciate how valuable the nation is in every way. They make the time to thank the beloved veterans. As true Americans, one celebrate their national independence and thank God for blessing this country the way that he has. Americans intend their best to donate back to their nation. “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” In this quote, John F Kennedy says: as an American, one gives back. It can be from serving in the army, to being a school teacher or volunteering at the soup kitchen on the weekends. It can be anything that will make an effort the nation prosper. A Methodist church serves food every Wednesday for free to anyone who comes in. They serve around one hundred plates of food each week. That’s one hundred people that was given a meal that could have died that day of starvation, and fortunately, they didn’t. There is a multitude of different ways people can award back.
