Across the nation more of the population is trying to become healthier by exercising, specifically running. In order to exercise, a person needs to wear appropriate footwear. Nike is a very popular company that produces and sells running shoes. However, how does someone decide which shoe to buy for running? While purchasing new running shoes, there are different criteria that should be considered. In 2012, over 44 million running shoes were purchased (2013 State of the Sport). A few things these consumers hopefully took time to think about include price, comfort, style/design, and color. The price of a sneaker is important, especially if someone is on a budget. A particular pair of Danskin’s is fifteen dollars but received a review of one star by a specific mother. She claims “Every time we purchase Danskin shoes they fall apart after a couple of months” (Danskin Now). Compare that to a review of an eighty dollar pair of Nike running sneakers—“Needed a shoe with good arch support and also wanting it to be light in weight. I got a great fit with this shoe!” (Nike Women’s). From what the reviewers have said, there is clearly a relationship between price and quality. Along with quality in the price, there is also comfort. While working out and running, comfort is significant. Separate brands of running shoes offer various levels of comfort. Through personal experience, it is known that if the price of the sneaker is lower, the shoe is not that comfortable and will make feet ache.
There are different models of running shoes in various companies. For example, Nike produces shoes that are low to the ground, called Nike Free Runs, and they create ones with a higher heel such as Nike Air and Nike Lunar. Asics also makes countless different models of shoes. All the different types of shoes have different feelings on various parts of the foot. For a lot of younger people, this is important. Younger generations want to have articles of clothing that are “in style” and this includes what they wear on their feet. It seems as though sneakers that are more colorful and have a pattern are the sneakers that are most popular but also the most expensive. Consumers must weigh their priorities such as the design and price while buying sneakers. The excitement someone feels while shopping for new running shoes comes from all the numerous options he or she has while looking.
Females and males both love shopping for new running shoes. It makes him or her feel motivated and creates a sense of self-esteem. The feeling of shopping and looking at new running shoes also can make someone feel energetic. If the people feel as though they have found their most perfect shoe, it makes them feel enthusiastic. After selecting the perfect sneakers and taking them home, the costumer can then try out his or her new sneakers. During and after running, he or she will feel great about
