According to Vital Statistics, in 2009 there were 554 adults that unintentionally shot and killed him or her selves. At the same time, 112 juveniles accidentally did the same thing (Congressional Digest 4). And “according to BJS, NVCS data from 1987 to 1992 indicated that in each of those years, roughly 62,000 victims of violent crime (1 percent of all victims of such crimes) used guns to defend themselves. Another 20,000 persons each year used guns to defend their property” (Congressional Digest 5). They say that an educated society is an overall better society. If that is the case I believe an educated society is a safer society. If everyone in society, including children, received an education on how to properly handle a firearm, I believe that the number of accidents and the number of crimes committed would decline. I believe that everyone has the right to safety and everyone should have an opportunity to learn how to defend him or herself if a dangerous situation arises. In my opinion, in the long run their would be even more guns and we would be living in a safer society.

More guns may sounds scary, but it is actually good thing. I believe that the number of accidents and the number of crimes committed would decline if children had the option in school to learn the basics of firearm safety.. I also believe that everyone has the right to safety and everyone should have an opportunity to learn how to defend him or herself if a dangerous situation occurs at anytime and that that person would be ready to fight back. In the long run this could lead to even more guns and we would be living in a safer society where criminals would have to think twice before going into some building where they might be shot. I think if we teach the kids safety, it could influence their lives someday.
