For most students, college is the next big step in their lives. To be truly successful in this day and age in the job field you desire you need a good education outside of high school. This is where college comes in. Some people are starting to believe different though. “Only 42% of the American population believe college is necessary for the workforce”(Agenda Public). Students have a big decision to make when it comes to which college to choose. There are many things to consider when it comes to which college to pick, like location, tuition, degrees, room and board, and the environment. There are four types of degrees you can obtain, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate. An Associate’s degree requires two of schooling. This is just a general college education, no specifying major is being received. “While an associate's degree can get you off to a good start, many of today's employment opportunities require a minimum of a bachelor's degree. This is the first step into majoring or having a minor in a certain job field. Some just only require only a bachelor’s degree, or less. More difficult jobs require more schooling as in receiving a master's or doctorate degree. A superintendent has to have the minimum requirement of master's degree when it comes to education. “A Master is an advanced degree conferred by universities around the world for completion of graduate study in a specific discipline. A master’s degree is more in depth studies than what you would have previously learned when achieving an associate’s and bachelor’s degree. Now there is a higher education degree which is a doctorate’s degree.
