So, is it worth going to college even though it’s pricey? Well, if we consider everything we gain from college and the experience, yes it is. Most people go to college to get a degree in whatever field they are most interested in. Going to college gives us a chance at a better life. Not only do we get a chance at a better life, but we also get to better ourselves as well.
Secondly, students who get a college degree will have many opportunities open up for them. There will be more jobs waiting for them after they graduate. When they graduate they can go straight to work in the field of their interest and for which they studied. In today’s world, many jobs require a college degree rather than a high school diploma. Blanche D. Blank, author of “A Question of Degree”, implies that “with the ability to do paraprofessional mental-health works are lost to jobs they could hold with pleasure and profit because the training program also requires a two-yea... ... middle of paper ... ...pends on what major or career the students choose to study to base their income.
In my opinion, the value of higher education means more salary, higher chance of getting a job, meeting more people and ideas, and a better quality of life. For that, college education is obviously worth for the society and for most people to have in their life. The first reason that a college education is necessary is because it can help people to get a better quality of life in the future, especially for people who were raised from poor families. Ever since I was a little kid, I was always being told by many people that “knowledge can change your destiny. It makes you not only rich in life, but also enrich you as a productive person.” In my understanding, college education opens a door that can eventually change people’s future as long as they will willing to work hard.
The traditional education ladder from prekindergarten to college in the United States of America is now changing and there is a new spin on planning one’s future. Danielle Woods, a writer for Today MSNBC, stated that, “A growing number of high school seniors are balking at riding the academic conveyer belt from preschool all the way to the university. They’re burnt out. Or not quite ready. Or they want to explore a few interests before deciding what to study in college” (Woods).
Achieving a college education provides an advantage in a number of ways. Students would learn new things, meet new people, and have an advantage to getting to where they want to be in the future. A college education would increase the chances of a successful career, and earning potentials. While pursuing a college degree a student would also get the chance to learn more about what they truly want out of life.
Why do people need a better broader education? First, a broader education will help people get out of poverty with a better change of not becoming homeless. Second, people can get out of a dead end job and have good career during their college life or after. Therefore, a college degree is important to start your business you can also hire some employees that will help you on your business someday and the business will give you leadership to show your employees how important is college degree will get to you. As a matter of fact, there are some good benefits by going to college, “In Tyler Cowen view, “the wage differential between college graduates and high school graduates- the college premium- is growing.” In other words, Cowen believes that should help students understand about college degree is massively high paying and in the end, they won’t regret going to college.
However, this is only the nations average because once a person has achieved a college education, that person is most likely going to receive a promotion, a raise or a bonus based solely on their educational experience. Besides achieving an economic security blanket, a college degree provides you with a more developed and specific education. Although it is difficult to remember everything that you were taught within those four years, college prepares you for more critical and analytic thinking. In most cases, this creates a self-disciplined, task oriented person, of whom many employers seek out for their positions. Later in life, a college degree can create better life skills that can help when it comes to personal investments and finances, and buying and owning your own home.
Nowadays, it is often said that one needs a college education in order to be better prepared for the future and the real world. In other words, society claims that by obtaining this degree, one is able to live a fulfilling and prosperous life. Apart from society, the Media also plays a contributing role in the effect college has on Americans. They equally consider higher level education a requirement and therefore, one must earn it. In the article, “Is College worth it?
Education has a concept that has a significant meaning; hence, it allows an individual to acquire particular knowledge or skills. Education is what prepares one’s mind to learn and understand important ideas. The thought of attending college is a debatable choice as it is debated that having a college education increases an individual’s quality of life and society. Money and time are required to obtain a higher education and can be a hardship; however, it does not compare to the possible advantages and outcomes one receives for initiating a path to a college degree and success. A higher education is not only a pathway to success, because there is a value in higher education that help students acknowledge who they are, grow as people, and develop
