These guidelines outline the duties of a program director and their salaries (please find attached detailed job description page 19-21). In mid 2016, the pantry began an additional distribution time (Monday evenings). Each distribution time requires planning of volunteers and preparation of food rationing. The program director is currently responsible for: • Scheduling volunteers. • Developing relationships to increase funding. • Tracking pantry needs and inventory. • Receiving/coordinating food deliveries. The increase in clients and service times require more volunteers and larger quantities of food being delivered and at a greater frequency. The only way to meet these needs is to increase the hours of the director and add a part-time volunteer coordinator. This anticipated increase is due to Project 66 Food Pantry’s recent relocation to a more central location. The Regional Food Bank has anticipated that the move will result in a significantly larger client base. An increase in client demand requires increased duties for the program director and a need for a volunteer coordinator. Last year the pantry served (average) 939 individuals per month. Project 66 Food Pantry, over the next few years, is preparing for an increase of up to 200% (clients). This large increase in demand requires that the pantry adds a second employee. The main focus of a second employee will be organizing the large volunteer base that keeps the pantry operating. The new employee, a volunteer coordinator, will ensure that services are provided at the level of excellence that the pantry constantly strives to maintain.
