Food Drive Reflection

This year my hours I boxed up food for the thanksgiving food drive and I boxed up workers offices and labeled letters for Seabury resources for aging. For the food drive we were aiding the less fortunate who cannot afford such an extravagant thanksgiving meal. When I boxed up the offices I was aiding the workers for their move. Though while labeling letters I was hoping the workers and the people they help. When I was boxing up food I spent about 7 hours working. When I was boxing up offices I spent 7 hours the first day and 8 and a half hours during the second day. A Positive of the experience I saw the amount of people who came to Aid the drive. This is because I thought many people would not answer the call to service the less fortunate shortly before Thanksgiving. I also felt a positive impact when I saw many fellow pallotti students at the food drive. This is because I did not expect student to be willing to serve the community and give up time in their morning to serve the less fortunate as well. Another experience I had was when I was labeling letters for seabury. This was because I saw the amount of people that this organization was aiding and who i was aiding through providing service. This connection is important because throughout the New Testament it is shown that we should serve all but mainly those in need. This can be shown by many statements in the New Testament. An example of this can be this quote “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35. I tried to my service to be an example of this quote because I was there to serve and I am still ready to serve many
