As an embodiment of all his teachings, Jesus presented key principles and teachings for adherents to live by which are evident in all aspects of Christianity. Jesus is a model for all Christian living and this is evidently demonstrated through his ministry of love and forgiveness, advocacy for the needy and service to others. A prayer that Jesus taught his disciples, incorporates both love and forgiveness, “And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us,” is an evidence that Jesus is a model to Christians. Jesus not only illustrated love and forgiveness, but he also acted as an advocate for the poor which is reflected in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” With this, adherents in today’s society have tried to follow in his footstep by assisting the poor who cannot assist themselves which is depicted by the Salvation Army's 'Red Shield Appeal' where people interchange and contribute their time and money to the poor as volunteers. Furthermore, this portrays how Jesus is a role model for Christian life as adherents are feeding the hungry, giving drinks to the thirsty and helping the poor, spreading the teachings of Jesus and his ministry.
