If you ever watched the horror franchise” Saw,” and saw how Jigsaw trapped his victims in situations where they are involved into physical and psychological torture, then you are able to understand and picture what female genital mutilation experience might be like. Female circumcision is also known as female genital mutilation or female genital cutting. FGM is an early ancient cultural ritual. Many strategies have been implemented to eliminate this practice. However, despite work efforts, it is still widespread, mainly in poor uneducated societies worldwide by the misconception of correlating this rational cultural practice to religion. Therefore, to eliminate this practice, public awareness activists including educated Muslim groups must advocate and reject all the upheld beliefs associated with religion. …show more content…
