Film Critique Fed up is a film that critically explores how obesity is a worldwide epidemic that is a struggle for some families to overcome. The obesity issue is a public health crisis that depends on everybody taking action in their homes, communities, and schools to minimize the consumption of foods that are not healthy. Dealing with obesity is not easy for low income families since the barrier of cost will make it difficult to purchase healthy foods that are expensive. The high cost of living will force low income families to opt for cheaper foods that are not healthy choices. In addition to the high cost of living, location is an issue since there is a limited amount of quality markets located in low income neighborhoods. Shopping for quality food is important, however, organic markets are viewed as luxury destinations, where lower income people cannot afford to shop there on a regular basis. When some people are aware of the types of foods that are inadequate or substandard, they can take initiative to eat healthier. Although the food industries manufacture and process food products that are not healthy, everyone has to be responsible and accountable for the foods they purchase. Even though the government. Additionally, the public has to understand that the government is in business to earn a profit. For example, the parents in the documentary are responsible for the foods their children consume since they are the guardians and decision-makers of the household. When the parents do not monitor their children’s eating habits, they will consume any food since they are hungry.
