It can be considered a huge risk factor in our health, but in reality we don’t realize the huge amounts of fattening foods we consume in general. We don’t usually take time to look deeper on an issue or object and when we do we can realize how much more is within it. Works Cited Hendel, Amy. "Is Pizza Public Enemy #1?" Healthcentral.com.

This dilemma has brought much debate among professionals and activists, but the issue should ideally be left to the consumer; however through the years the consumer has continually shown to make the wrong choice. The industrialization of the food market and the lack of self-control within society has been threatening humanity in various ways. First, the processed foods that are becoming the norms of today are lowering the life expectancy with every bite. Second, the health problems that are becoming more apparent in our nation’s citizens are being passed on from generation to generation. Last but not least, the convenience of these fast foods are making it much easier and seemingly beneficial to purchase them on a daily basis.
The people who choose to purchase the food or those who prepare it? Most importantly what solutions can we find? Personally, I think fast foods are convenient and a tasty addition to a balanced diet can have serious health and social effects. Everyone should think twice before deciding to eat fast food. People should learn to choose fast food carefully and remember the pleasure of eating good food in good company.
Neurons can be “encoded” for palatability, meaning that they show preference by firing more. For example, a neuron may be “encoded” to the taste, smell or texture of a certain food. The increasing effect of this liking towards a specific food, will cause sensory stimuli to amp up the neurons and fire them to move (Kessler, 2009, p.35). The message to consume food becomes more powerful, prompting the eater to act more aggressively in search of the stimulus. “Orosensory self-stimulation” plays a great role in overeating and obesity.
”It tastes good so why not?” That seems to be the question many people are asking now-a-days. Because it is so easily accessible and processed, it is made to be very tasty and extremely unhealthy. Many Americans find his or herself indulging on the these fatty foods of America on a day-to-day basis. While it may taste good at the time, it has a terrible effect on your body on a long-term basis. Eat it regularly, and it becomes a nasty and deadly habit and can cause heart failure, Type 2 Diabetes, high cholesterol, high-blood pressure, and many other life threatening complications to the body.
