The documentary “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” is an inspirational reflection of the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A man named Joe Cross shares his story of how a sixty day juice cleanse completely changed his life. In the beginning of the documentary, we see him six weeks after starting his cleanse where he’s buying fruits and vegetables from a stand on the side of the road. Joe then uses what he bought and puts them into a juicer he keeps in his car. After making his juice, he sits at the top of a hill where he shares with us that he is thankful he got sick because this was his body telling him to slow down and get well. Moving back in time before his cleanse, a cartoon is played to imitate Joe and his conditions that support him in titling the documentary, “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.” Finally, we see Joe as a 41 year old man who’s extremely overweight because of his unhealthy eating habits and sick from his rare skin disease that causes a red rash all over his body. …show more content…
