From the moment I realized I could determine what I wore and how my wardrobe was presented amongst my peers, was the moment I fell in love with fashion. Little did I know that I could pursue this industry being at such a young age.I have always been the girl who would look for the newest, latest and trendiest styles, even if they were out of the box and edgy. I was never afraid of trying new things and I still am not. I love to raise the bar with fashion trends that quite haven’t made their appearance. Making statements are a great way to make that first impression a little more memorable. All of these qualities will help me succeed in my future goals because I work hard to better myself in my education so I can achieve all of my dreams and aspirations. I tend to set very high expectations for myself. I very much want to be someone bigger than I can imagine. I am the perfect candidate for FIT because of my persistence and determination lets me to present myself with competence in the Fashion world. I can represent FIT as a determined, reliable and ambitious student who willingly participates in every opportunity that arises to the occasion and shows an endless passion for a career she dreams about and loves wholeheartedly. To tie everything together with my exuberant passion for fashion, I have been given many opportunities that very much relate to the fashion industry and buying. My first job at 15, was a retail job with Hollister Co. I knew from my very first day that, a career in fashion was right for me. I enjoyed helping others shop for the latest trends and making them feel great about themselves. Fashion can definitely boost your self-esteem, and that was what I was doing, but helping others put together outfits with a creative edge. Now being 19, I am still working in retail. I could not stay away. I work for Pacific Sunwear, as an associate, and a style leader. Being a style leader means to help represent brands we carry, educating and pumping up customers about the designers and clothing. Not to mention, I also get the pleasure of helping with floor sets and mannequins. All of these qualities have really helped me with pursuing being a buyer. I also am a sales associate at Michael Kors. Being a seller for Michael has helped me develop how to figure out the needs and wants of clients. I feel this will help me extensively when I start my career in buying. It will help me with figuring out what the people want and what they are looking for. I have grown so much from these experiences. I plan to continue to grow more. I feel that in 4 years of retail I have accomplished amazing
