In life I want to become a fashion designer. My goals are to create clothing that is for all sizes, ages, and genders. In my clothing I want t show a creative side of my art ability and I want to make my clothing affordable for all as well. I think I influenced myself to wanting to become a fashion designer because I have a passion for art and wanting to become a fashion designer. I enjoy making sketches of clothing that one day will hopefully be available in stores all over. Fashion designing in my opinion is a way to express the unique side of your creativity, also fashion designing is a career that I believe I can achieve in so highly if I stay focused and continue to putting forth effort in my creations. I could see interior designing as a possible career in my future because it’s somewhat similar to fashion designing just in the designing area. Both involve having a since of style and an eye for color, texture and pattern coordination. In order to prepare for this career in my future I would need to attend a college involving designing, fashion designing, and a type of art. The education I would need would be a two year to four year college for fashion designing and a one year to three year college for interior designing. These careers take a bachelors degree in some place of art. In order to want to attend college first of all I would have to maintain an acceptable grade point average of what I would possibly assume of a 2.5 or higher depending on the location of the college as well as the skill learning level of the college. I’m not taking very many classes to prepare for my future career although I am taking art 2-D Fundamentals. It somewhat involves an area of fashion designing, that area being sketching. This career involves a salary of around $20,000.00 or so up until $80,000.00 or even more according to the Labor Statistics Bureau for Occupations. All together the career of becoming an interior designer is a career that I could see myself pursuing because it has many interest that I would like to explore and also it is a career that I see as a great beginning for the future of my adult life into becoming a more better and skilled designer whether it’s an interior designer or fashion designer or graphic designer. Designing in any way is a career that I could say becomes natural to me because it all involves some experience in art and art is the basic beginning of it all.
Before finally deciding on my career path, I had a very hard time trying to choose which path I wanted to take. After considering what I truly enjoy doing and what skills I possess, I have decided that I wanted to become a graphic designer. I want to be a graphic designer, because I feel that I would have a chance to use all of the skills I possess and be happy while doing it. In order to become a graphic designer, there are certain educational requirements that must be met. There are also specific job requirements that I must accomplish. Although there are many requirements, the personal benefits I gain will make up for all of the hard work in the end.

Application of career theories to my own life allows for analyzing past and future career decisions. Holland’s Theory of Careers states that one’s vocation is an expression of self, personality, and way of life. There is an indisputable and fundamental difference in the quality of life one experiences if they choose a career one truly enjoys, versus choosing a career one detests. A true testament to the validity of Holland’s theory, my job/career choices reflect my interests, as well as the evolution of my personality (internal self). My first job as a fine jewelry specialist and second job as a make-up artist echo my love of the fashion world. As I matured and became less fascinated by presumed “glamour” careers, I became captivated by physical fitness, nutrition, and medicine; I received my national fitness trainer certificate so that I may become a personal trainer. Nevertheless, my career decisions do not fit uniformly into merely one career theory.

Many of my friends pick their careers based on money and trade skills that they have. I am proficient in art and design, but didn’t feel like that was what I wanted to do for my career. Your career shapes a huge portion of your life. It is what you do every day, for a large portion of your life. It is what I have prepared for the past 12 or so years of my life. It is way more than just money or a skill. I wanted to do something unique, something interesting, something that would inspire me to be a better human, something that would make me feel, something that is challenging, something that helped others, and above all, something that was rewarding and made me feel fulfilled.
Ever since I was able to dress myself I would and wouldn’t let anyone else tell me what to wear. As my family would tell me, they knew that I had my own sense of style from a young age. Over they years my love for fashion and creating things grew and never went away. While taking sewing classes in middle school, I wanted to be a fashion designer and that stayed my top career choice for a while. Once I got to high school I first took a fashion marketing class. My dream career would be: Becoming a nurse. Nurses help people in many different ways. They work at a fast, but focused pace; work side by side with Doctors and surgeons. I really love to draw and imagining my own little world. Watching many animations has influenced me a lot. I learnt how people made those animals speak, how those lifeless dolls become alive, and how another dimensions of mythical creatures can be created. Since then, I know that I wanted to do this for my whole life. It has inspired me to do something that I love as a career. There are many different ways today that I can keep up with what is going on in the fashion world without going to school, but school will prepare me for the challenges that are to come. The only previous work experience that I had working in a fashion was at Mortal Kombat. I did not stay at the job very long because of personal issues that I had with staff. I feel that I need to get involved in some type of fashion job so that I can network better. Networking is essential in the fashion business, because you may never see people that you want to talk to but word-of-mouth can open doors that lead you in the direction that you wanted to go.
My job is being an architect I feel like being an architect is a job I would like to pursue. It takes a lot of commitment and desire to become an architect. I like this job because you can be your own boss, people respect you, you can make a positive impact in people’s life, and you can have a lot of free time. Architects are also ethical and responsible. I am also very creative, being creative allows you to make structures that have not been made before. You could also win commission contests for major projects you have made. You also have to be responsible and kind to people.
