Evidence is the proof of something and it can tell if an information given is true or false. It is so important because it can say someone is guilty or innocent. Moving on to the murder case of JonBenet Ramsey. The case is about a girl the age of 6 years old who was found dead on her house basement after 8 hours given missing. The first mistake the forensic made was not searching the house. First of all because it could have indications of the alleged kidnapping. If she was kidnapped they would find traces of the abductor and if not they wouldn’t attest her as missing. If they search the house they would find her body earlier. By finding her earlier would help find the murder’s trace and would avoid relatives/friends spoiling the
On June 19th of 1990, Robert Baltovich’s girlfriend Elizabeth Bain went missing. Elizabeth told her family that she was going to check the tennis schedules at her school, the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. She never returned, but her car was eventually recovered. It was found with blood on the backseat, with forensic tests showing that it was Elizabeth’s. With no clear evidence, the “solving” of the case was completely based on eyewitness testimonies, which eventually had Robert arrested for the murder of his girlfriend.
The Lindbergh child child case was heard all around the world. This happened seven years after the “Monkey Trial” and a half century before the famous O.J Simpson case. When the news of Charles Lindbergh Jr. kidnapping, a media craze broke out and the world was in shock. This case attracted more journalists and reporters than World War I had many years ago. At first demanding $50,000 and then rising up the ante to $70,000 which made front-page headlines and news around the world. There weere many hopes and prayers that the Lindbergh baby was alive and well, But all those hopes, were crushed two months after little Lindbergh was found. Reports say a small child's body was found a few miles from the their mansion. The body was badly decomposed; on the left leg their was nothing below the knee and same for the left hand. The right arm had been chewed off by what seemed to be a pack of dogs or wild
Casey Anthony was accused of killing her two-year-old daughter Caylee, but because of lack of evidence, Anthony was convicted not guilty. John Cloud, from Time magazine, implies, “And yet virtually no one doubts that Anthony was involved in her child’s death. In fact, her lawyer admits that Anthony know how her daughter’s body would be disposed of” (“Few Doubt That Casey Anthony Was Involved in Her Child’s Death. But Fascination With Her Case Has Made It The First Major Murder Trial Of The Social-Media Age”). They found Caylee’s corpse duct taped by Casey’s parent’s house, in Orlando, Florida. The only evidence they found was in the family Pontiac Sunfire. The stench of decomposing flesh overpowered the trunk of the family’s car. “Why did Anthony let 30 days pass between the time Caylee went missing and the day police were notified?” questioned Tresniowski, “And how could she so blithely dan...
To begin, I will provide a summary of what happened prior-to and throughout the duration of the trial. Caylee Marie Anthony was a two-year-old American girl who lived in Orlando, Florida with her mother, Casey Marie Anthony, and her maternal grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony. On July 15, 2008, she was reported missing to 9-1-1 by Cindy, who said she h...
On June 16, 2008 Caylee Anthony was last seen leaving her grandparents house with her mother, Casey. In exactly one month, Cindy Anthony, her grandmother, calls the police to report that Caylee has been missing. Casey did call the police, however, to tell them that the babysitter had kidnapped Caylee. July 16, 2008, Casey was arrested for child neglect and false information. It would be hard to indicate that a person was guilty if there was no body found to prove that. On December 11, 2008 the remains of a little girl were found and sure enough it was the body parts of Caylee Anthony. The evidence and surroundings of her death pointed at her mother, however, at the end of the case she was proved to be not guilty for the murder of her child.
On the morning after christmas in 1996, After finding a ransom note that was 3 pages long demanding $118,000 for her daughter to be returned safely Patsy called the police. However, later that afternoon JonBenet’s body was found in
The JonBenet Ramsey case has been an unsolved homicide case for the past 20-years. No one has ever been able to solve her case. JonBenet was only 6-years old when she got killed in her own house. JonBenet was a lovely girl who was in the pageant industry. Everyone always enjoyed the company of JonBenet. She was an enjoyable person to be around. JonBenet deserves justice, she was only a child, so innocent. We need her killer/killers so hee is what I think.
The issue here I believe is with the justice system itself and not the direct actions of the prosecution or the police involved. The blame isn’t really so easy to point out honestly. If anyone is to blame at all it would be the people who tampered with the crime scene and the potential failure/inability of the police in preserving the scene if it was possible.
Sue Grafton once stated: “Except for cases that clearly involve a homicidal maniac, the police like to believe murders are committed by those we know and love, and most of the time they're right.” This is clearly the thought the Boulder Colorado police conceived in the case of little beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey. As many have observed from the onslaught of media coverage, the day after Christmas 1996, six year old Jon Benet Ramsey was found buried under a white blanket, bound, beaten, and strangled to death in the wine cellar of their Boulder home. With such a strikingly rare and glamorous story of a six year old beauty queen dead, who was a part of a “perfect American upper-middle class family”, combined with a lack of a lead and ever mounting suspicion piling up against the parents it was no surprise to find that it was fuel to the media and soon stories sold and became a matter of competition between the press. So, like wildfire, this heart-breaking story spread, stretching across the nation, shattering the souls of the world. News broadcasts, magazine and newspaper articles, and television specials all shaped and molded peoples perceptions of this beautiful child’s murder, especially her parents, John and Pasty Ramsey’s involvement or lack there of. The police and FBI’s merciless quest to connect Jon Benet’s murder to her parents, seemed to cause the them to overlook important evidence, or at the very least dismiss suspicious findings that would otherwise send red flags to investigators. There are many contributors as to why this case remains unsolved including lack of investigative expertise, failure to protect valuable evidence, and focusing too much on the parents as suspects but, ultimately, the over involvement of...
clear to me that the Ramsey family murdered JonBenet. I think that Burke, her older
In order to understand how to compile evidence for criminal cases, we must understand the most effective types of evidence. This topic is interesting because there are ample amounts of cases where defendants have gotten off because of the lack of forensic evidence. If we believe forensic evidence is so important and it affects our decisions, then maybe we need to be educated on the reality of forensic evidence. If we can be educated, then we may have a more successful justice system. If we have a more successful justice system than the public could gain more confidence that justice will be served. In order to do this, we must find what type of evidence is most effective, this can be done by examining different types of evidence.
The murder of JonBenet Ramsey was very shocking and caused a huge investigation that is yet unsolved. Family was one of the things that contributed to JonBenet’s murder. JonBenet Ramsey is a very special six-year-old girl with a successful family. She was a little pageant girl with blond curly hair and blue eyes; she was a very well known competitor since she had won many pageants (SV;SV) (Schneider). Her mother, Patsy Ramsey, was a former beauty queen; her father, John Ramsey, was a millionaire businessman (SV; SV) (Bardsley, and Bellamy).
One current event that has been in the news is the trial of Jonathan Douglas Richardson. Richardson was recently convicted and sentenced to death for abusing and murdering a four year old little girl named Teghan Skiba. His defense was that he was abused as a kid and had mental health problems. The assistant district attorney said that Richardson wanted people to feel bad for him and to forget what he did to that little girl and that “He was blamed everyone else but himself.”
The amount of evidence can either help win or lose a case. Every crime scene has evidence available for officers to collect. It is important for them to know what the standard protocol is for collecting evidence and how to properly collect it without contamination.
Evidence is some sort of information that can be used to prove or disprove a belief that one may have. Depending on what the belief is, evidence can come in many different forms, anywhere from images to physical objects. When these different types of information stimulates someone’s brain, the person starts thinking, connecting it to other sources of information that they may already know. By doing so, they validate or invalidate each new information to create evidence that may support their claims.
