Hand clapping, feet patting, rolling underneath the church pews, that is what I am used to seeing every Sunday morning. The church I attend back home plays a significant role in my life. It is basically my second home, where I am taught to stand firm in the word of God. I have been a member since I was seven; it is a family oriented church where we are taught to reach out to people. If someone misses church on Sunday, we give them a call on Monday to makes sure everything is well. As the Youth Choir Director at my church. We are always visiting churches in the Chicagoland area. After a few days passed, I mustered up the courage indirectly ask Noah to Prom. I asked him if he had a Prom date set in stone. He said "No" and I said "Great, that means we can go together". Then I we were Prom date's. The hardest part of all of this was letting Tyler down and telling him I was no longer interested in going to Prom with him, because I was interested with going with someone else. Tyler, was OK with that. I have transition from high school to college since then and I will be facing new challenges, because of my background I am well equipped. At times in college it can become an everyman for himself academic war. This is why I am willing to have others back, because I except someone to have my back. I have no problem using my resources and going to ask for help from a professor when I do not know the answer. Just like I reached out to my guidance counselor for advise to resolve my Prom dilemma.If I find myself in class being belittled by a classmate I will advocate for myself and tell them how I earnestly feel, just like I did Tyler when telling him I was not interested in going to prom with him.
