Participating in the Los Angeles semester is an experience that allowed me to learn a lot about the industry that I am going into as well as the place where I hope to eventually move. Coming into the semester I knew that I wanted to move out to Los Angeles after graduation. Being here for the semester and being a part of so many different experiences between my internship and classes has made the thought of moving here a little less overwhelming. Through my internship, I was able to learn about the part of the music industry that I hope to be in. As well as learn about general tips for getting jobs, networking, and the business as a whole. Walking into this internship I knew that I wanted to work someplace in sync licensing but I didn't know exactly which part I wanted. In previous internships, I had worked in a creative sync team and on the music supervision side. This internship was able to show me the other aspect of a sync licensing department. While I liked my internship and I was able to learn a lot about sync licensing and licensing admin, I learned that I want to work more on the creative side of a sync licensing department. In this internship, I felt very disconnected from the music and the creative aspect of this industry. Through a personal connection, I had the opportunity to sit down one on one with a music supervisor to discuss the business and get her advice. While I was talking to her I told her about where I am currently interning as well as where I had interned in the past. I found it crazy how she knew people from all of my internships. Even the internship that I did in London she knew one of the people that I worked with. Even though I knew that it was a small industry where everyone knows everyone this really put that into perspective for
