When I began reading Your Ethical Perspective, I immediately realized that I base my perspective partly on what it is good to be and partly on what it is good to do. I suppose in some effect, I have a few blended categories. Ethics and morals are very important to me and over the years their importance has continually grown. Not having the opportunity to have been taught good ethics and morals growing up in a severely dysfunctional family definitely left me at a huge disadvantage, so learning and applying them came later in life through therapy. Intuition plays a huge part in this process for me, if it feels wrong to me, it most likely is wrong. It was once suggested to me to study and trust my intuition because it will lead you in the right direction, that intuition, or your gut will not steer you in the wrong direction and I have found that to be true. It’s like the deal that seems too good to be true, chances are, it is, and your intuition will tell you this. So, listen to it! First of all, you must want to have good morals and values and be willing to apply them even when it may seem easier not to. I have good values, I am honest and my moral character and integrity is intact. I think you need these attributes to be able to make good ethical decisions. I do believe though, the word “integrity” is used in many ethical decisions but it is not always modeled by as many people as I’d like to see. I think some people are dishonest and that might be a minor dishonesty, for example in our lesson with CEO Jason flying first class, etc., but to me, dishonesty is dishonesty to whatever degree it was presented, bottom …show more content…

I do find this frustrating because some things are truly not easily measured and others are. But I think there is a general precedence of right and wrong that most people do try to follow on a daily basis. I remember watching a conflict happening in an office setting that went on for a few years, far longer than it should have. The boss had a very hard time confronting people, an even harder time firing people and the atmosphere in that office was horrendous. I knew him to be a very stand-up kind of person and have wonderful ethics and this made it a bit confusing to me, but it was not my business to interfere in anyway. I was not privy to knowing all of the details of the problem itself except that it involved a personality conflict, but it was clear to me that some kind of action needed to be taken and instead it was left to fester and eventually the other parties in the office dreaded coming to work. I believe he was in hopes that the parties would work through their differences although that did not happen. As I stated above, it took years before the problem was finally addressed and the persons employment terminated. I think the others in the office were worried if they defended any ethical perspective in that situation, it
