It’s been a long time since the last narrative and a lot has changed. The internship with the dental hygienist failed miserably. After three sessions, my mentor just stopped communicating and cut all ties with me. I attempted to email her multiple times but I remained unheard. So, I had to find a way to troubleshoot and look for another mentor and place to intern at. Fortunately, it wasn’t as difficult as it may have been presented to me at the time. When I was faced with this problem, I thought of the physical therapist that treated me when I had both of my ACL surgeries in middle school. Physical therapy has always interested me, I did my Junior paper on it and the career itself. The therapist that treated me, Dennis Schepmann at the Jackson County Physical Therapy in Phoenix was the perfect candidate to be my mentor. Dennis gladly took me in and set up everything, with which hours I needed to go in, which therapist and which room I went in to in order to complete my project in time. They both spoke with me about what they thought was the best route with college, sacrifices they made, and how they managed time in college. Dennis advised that going to a community college the first couple years was best and then transferring in order to save as much money as possible. Rebecca told me that she had to move from Pennsylvania all the way to Washington in order to suit her budget and best education. The both of them giving me these helpful advice influenced my decision to stay and attend Rogue Community College and relieves my worries about being forced to go to the very pricey Pacific University in Oregon because it’s not my only
