Coming from a multi-national European background, I have always been interested in how countries interact with one another socially, economically, and politically despite their profound cultural differences. I have had the privilege of travelling a lot throughout Europe and have also been to the Dominican Republic and Egypt. Discovering new cultures and societies have made travel a passion of mine. The noticeable differences that I have experienced first hand between different Europeans alone have only further inspired my interest in other cultures and societies.

Having a German mother, a British father and having grown up attending the French Lycée in Budapest before moving to Spain and continuing my education in the French system, I have been subjected to a variety of cultures and have learned 5 languages in the process. Attending such international schools abroad has been an eye-opening experience as I was immersed in a multicultural environment with friends stemming from all corners of the globe. Due to my mixed background, I have never really felt like I belong to just one culture, which has always fuelled my curiosity and desire to discover different cultures from around the world. I also have ancestry stemming from Mexico, which has made Latin America a region of particular interest to me as I learned much about the region from my father. I believe that South East Asia, in particular Malaysia and Indonesia, is a remarkable part of the world. Given the rapid emergence of these countries, I believe that they will likely become political, cultural, and economic powerhouses in years to come. I have for this reason also begun learning Indonesian Bahasa, as I one day hope to visit the region, immerse myself in the culture, and potentially even find work
