Receiving college for free through the ECHS program and having the opportunity to emerge from high school with an Associate degree is the motivation for why I will be attending college throughout high school. I am extremely grateful and lucky to have the opportunity to attend college in high school as not all are as fortunate. Completing the college program means I will have my core classes done, therefore once I accomplish my goal I will be able to concentrate the majority of my time on my major. I expect to become better educated from this experience and understand the world around me clearer. Claiming that I do not understand what is being taught is difficult for me. Asking questions is an essential part of college and overcoming my fear of sounding illogical is a problem that I must resolve. Entering college has motivated me tremendously on account of how I do in this step in my life will affect my future. Therefore, I must make the most of the experience and strive to do proficient in my studies. My current goals are I hope to develop into a better writer, improve on the notes I take, and staying on task without distractions. My biggest concerns for college are that I am not going to be able to adjust to the enormous change of college, getting lost while professor is teaching, and failing to achieve my full potential. In the next few years my main goal is to receive my associate's degree. The only barriers in my way of achieving my goal is my willingness to work, staying on top of assignments and giving all I have in what I am learning. My number one goal currently is receiving the associates degree, so, yes I would say I am very committed. I use to rarely study, but now that I have entered college that has changed drastically. The way that I have been using my time in the past few weeks has been horrendous as I have not been staying on track with my high school work. I focus more of my time on my college classes rather than my high school classes. College and high school work can be overwhelming when I allow the work load pile up. I am becoming stressed out because my anxiety with school, baseball, social interactions and more. If I was taught how to handle all of my unorganization it would greatly improve my life. To succeed in college and in high school I am willing to put in the effort of studying, reviewing past material that I do not understand, and the homework assigned to me. If receiving an “A” in a class means that it is necessary to study every night, than I am willing to do so. If I need to re-read chapter notes to get a good grade on an Exam I will do so because working hard and pushing through, however tired or stressed I will put the dedication into what I am doing.
