In the article ‘Ecotourism : Ethical Operation or Cultural Exploitation’, the issue that is brought up by the author, Record is whether ecotourism give benefits in ethical operation or cultural encounters by increasingly affluent consumers is propelling communities, governments, and travel companies in accommodating to such demand. This statistics show that nature based activities, culture-based activities, heritage and outdoor adventure travels represent a significant segment of the outbound tourism market as well. The author also mentions a non-expert opinion to support which is a New Zealand scholar, Regina Scheyrens who believes ecotourism teaches travelers to be environmentally responsible while providing enlightening travel and visitation to relatively undisturbed natural areas in order to enjoy and appreciate nature that promotes conservation.
