1. I would first take into thought the physical enviroment, I would want the class to be well lit and inviting. I would want their to be designed areas for play, or experiements, and even space for children who just need some quiet time. I would want the posters on the wall to either be of the kids art work or of their families and homelife. I would want to make the classroom as child based as possible. I would make sure all the toys are age appropriate, if they're infiant to toddlers I'd give them toys that are more based around developing their fine motor skills, older children I would give them more toys that they have to think while playing with to help them develop cognatively. I would want the craft area to be well stocked with materials for them to use, I would like the materials to be accessable to the children so they can get what they want out and use them. I know that there will be some materials for safety reason that will be kepy higher but for the most part I want kids to just go all out and create beautiful works of art. I would want the imagnative play area to be stocked with dress uo clothes for boys and girls, as well as all kinds of different props so that the children can really get invested into imagnative play. I would want there to be a quiet area where children who maybe are more interovert or having a hard time one day can go and relax and have some quiet time. I want my enviroment to be open so I can observe children in each area while they play. I would also want my children to have a garden outside, a space to grow their own vegtables, and a play structure outside that they can paint on or drawl on, to make it their own, I'd also like there to be a table outside for the messy expeiments so children...

...xpeiments, I would give the kids experiements like colored ice and salt, or clear jello and eye droppers with colored water, or shaving cream and paint with different tools that make different designs in the cream, or baking soda and vingar with some food dye or glitter. I want my kids to see magic wonder and curisoity in science experiments. Id want them to have a space where they can get super hands on and watch science happen right infront of them.
D. A play structure with monkey bars and different climbing things for them to climb and swing on. Books about their body, their muscels, and bones. Id give them jumpropes, and balls they can sit on and bounce, bikes and scooters. I consider just having an outdoor space for children to run around and play as a material, I think its important children have that outlet to run and skip and jump and get some fresh air.
Always need time to communicate with the parents either formal or informal so we can build trust and be cultural sensitive. We can also provide parents with support and education with whatever the child’s needs might be. For the children we help them understand the language and reasoning skills. Math and numbers can be taught is so many ways through play that the children won’t get stressed. Nature and science when we provide them with things that are naturally in their surroundings they get a chance to investigate. Promote acceptance of diversity and do things to help all the children learn something new and interact with different activities when sharing their
It is about management, motivation, and instruction. Teachers need to know how to design their classroom so that the children are going to get the most efficient learning environment for them. For example, students who are visual learners or have attention problems, should sit near the front. Teachers must be experts in motivation. Students will be open to learning and want to learn if they are excited, happy, feel safe, and have confidence. Teachers must be instructional experts. Not all children learn the same way, teachers need to have the skill to give the same instruction in different ways so that all students
I would include technology and software in a play-center for early childhood education because there are some educational games that can help you children learn. The games or things they do at school they can also do at home if they have the same program at home and they can show their parents what they learned at school. It can help children be better problem solvers and help teach them how to make hard decisions. Technology can help children learn more about the world around them and how the world around them works. They can be also taught how to use a computer which can be helpful in the future when they have to write an essay, fill out college applications or even job applications. We want our children to be prepared to help them in the
It is equipped with balls, jump ropes, foam swords, basketball hoops, bubble wrap, a mini trampoline, a boxing bag, two giant inflatable bubble balls that the kids can use to run into each other without harming themselves or anyone else, and a giant stuffed man named max, he is white on one side and black on the other, and this is the only “person” the kids are allowed to hit. As part of our volunteer responsibilities, my roommate and I are to take turns being in the Volcano room and being with the main group, because Julie believes you get to better understand the kids this way. I was to stay with the main group and make nametags while my roommate and another volunteer took two (the number varies depending on the number of kids there that day) kids to the Volcano room for about 10 to 15 minutes (the time also varies depending on the number of kids there that day). I aided one of the girls with their nametag, helping them spell words, and finding stickers that represent who they were. I then had them help me complete mine to try to bond with them. Once we were done the groups switched to give everyone a chance in the Volcano room, and time to finish their
Activities will include music, arts & crafts, active and quiet games, reading, outdoor and indoor time, etc.
I think the concept of Kobod’s box was a good idea, but adjustments would have to be made in order to make sure everyone could participate. I think doing random acts of kindness helps students learn about subjects that can tie into school, as well as real life situations. I liked that Torey used cooking as a way to teach the students about reading and math, as many recipes feature both. I also think cooking activities can be more fun for students as they are hands on. I also liked Torey’s use of imagination to transport the children to oceans or the wilderness. I believe this activity sparks creativity in children and would be a good technique to teach them about adjectives and imagery. My favorite of Hayden’s techniques and the one I would implement is the of traffic lights to signal a student’s behavior for the day. I have seen this technique used in many classrooms I have observed and it is a good visual way to keep student’s behavior in
The classroom that I observed in was arranged in a simple way. In the dramatic play center there was a long coat rack and each hook was labeled with an image and name of the outfit. This was done so the children know where do place the clothing when they are done with it or cleaning up. Also in this center was a cash register, puppets, an oven, refrigerator, ironing board, sing, dishwasher, a table set and a comfy chair. Their block center was small, and sectioned off by a shelf and an arch way in the corner of the room. In this center there was also a table. I felt that they children would not have enough room to build although I did not measure the area. The art center had stamps, children’s art work, an easel, magazines and other essential art supplies. In the same area as the art center was the writing center. In this center was maps, chalk and chalk board, stencils, a ruler, notepads, loose paper and pencils.
After watching this video several times, I observed the teach demonstrating some of Danielson's guidelines. One of which includes 3a communicating with students. Throughout her lesson, the teacher constantly asks the class questions and gets a dialogue going between her and her students. To go along with that, 3b is also used for using questions along with discussion techniques. Engaging students in learning is also used by the teacher. This is shown by having the students get up and move in order to find a partner. After each student found a partner, they were supposed to read the chapter with each other. This goes along with 3c in Danielson’s theory. Another way the teacher uses 3c to engage students is by her asking the students to write
1. I would encourage parents at the begining of the school year to gather pictures of their family, family pets, the childs favorite toys, whatever they thought was important to the child. Then on the first day of school I would let each child talk alittle about their pictures if they wanted to before hanging them up on a cork bored, or some other sort of bored. As the year progesses if the child really wants to add some more pictures to the bored they are more then welcome. I believe having a place where children can see some familiar things when they are having a rough day can really help. I would also encourage families to come in to the classroom on occasion and share some of their culture with the children, it can be showing the kids a simple craft from their culture or making food, or even teaching the kids a few words in another langues. I want every child to know that their cultural backgrounds matter. I would also love to have a map in the classroom where families can add pins to show where their family and culture is from. each year I would love to have a different color pin so as the years progress I can look back and see all the diverse cultural backgrounds I have had in my classroom. During the day children, no matter how out going or uses to the facility they are will always have a rough day where they miss mommy or daddy so I want the children to have their pictures off the wall for them to look, but I would also love to encourage all parents at the begining of the year to creat a small story book just for their child to remind them how much they are loved and whatever else the parents want to remind their child of when they are upset. The parents would give t...
The easel they can work with a big book, the computers are for test or practice question and answer kind of thing, desk is for a recorder so that they can listen to a story, and the round table would be used for a worksheet practicing on whatever they need to be learning. The same will be for the math circles.
What I learned during the observation is that have a good layout and a good environment setting children are more willing learn and play with the children around them. They need to feel that they are apart of the classroom. That is part of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Need. You environment the classroom need to make children feel safe because if they don’t feel safe they are always going to be on high alert and not pay attached to what going on they are also not going to play or do anything in the classroom. Having the right environment makes it easy for children to explore and learn everything they need have those center or station is not just their for children to have fun and play that because while they are playing and have fun they are learning.
To begin with, we could do more activities. The activities will include field trips and field days. We could also do a
When building a classroom, the indoor learning environment will be influenced by the building and play area that surrounds the building. A classroom needs to have adequate space for children to play, explore and learn. Children need to have continuous access to water, bathrooms and a sink for handwashing. Although each room or center will be different they need to maintain areas that are easily and safely supervised from all areas of the classroom. The space needs to be organized into learning centers with well-defined areas. Areas such as science, art, sensory, bathrooms and eating areas need to be near a water source. Other areas such as block areas, library and housekeeping should be kept in areas with large area rugs or carpet.
The class I visited is comprised of 24 five and six year old children, a lead teacher and a ‘Para-Pro” who assists the teacher and provides support and guidance for the children. Within the classroom itself, there are 6 tables organized in the center of the room in a grid formation. Children have their own workspace at a shared table. Around the perimeter of the room are ‘centers’ where each day, the children work on tasks such as listening, story development, gross and fine motor skills, math, reading and other important skills that are needed to develop socially and academically. In several places on the walls, there are displays or ‘brag boards’ where children can post their work that they feel best represents their efforts. The walls are brightly decorated and are filled with pictures, letters, numbers and other basic elementary school information. It is energizing and interesting without being chaotic or overstimulating.
As educators we wish to have the students gain knowledge, through our efforts, and continue to expand their minds using the basics we have taught them. In an era when so many outside interests often cloud the minds of our impressionable youth, we often wonder how we can accomplish this task.
