... Staff cannot be supervised at all times. The younger management may find it harder to hold a certain amount of respect/discipline from certain staff members who previously knew them but on a lower ranking within the business. Ways in which to prevent this is to have the manager evaluate them personally to put in place that they are the boss and need to be respected and can not be walked over through a friendship.

Follow up – Problems may occur but it is if management chooses to follow up these problems and work out a way to solve them. SOC’s have to be carried out regularly, and staff needs to be aware that they are serious, the issuing of formal warnings can put the perspective back on this.

Interest – Dana’s Gourmet Kitchen ensures that the workplace can also be fun and not all serious. Incentives are put in place to help staff remain focused at the task at hand, incentives may include such things as who can sell the most pizza deals in one weekend.
