Culture can be characterized with aspects like bias, discrimination, diversity, emancipation, oppression, prejudice, racism and stigma.

• Bias: It is positive or negative attitudes towards a particular group based on ideas.
• Discrimination: It is the treatment towards a group or a person with negative approach.
• Diversity: It is the representation of the population with diverse cultures, customs with different social background.
• Emancipation: It is control feeling of a members or group by the other group or its members.
• Oppression: It is an act of placing restrictions on a group or individuals.
• Prejudice: It is a forming a preconceived idea about a particular group or an individual.
• Racism: It is negative generalization of a racial group.
• Stigma: It is the characteristic on an individual, which is considered as negative by others.

2.In general what are the different areas of emphasis (goals) reflected in the different activities.

Different goals emphasized are:

Cultural Safety/Diversity: Culturally safe and socially secure environments, have to be set and consistently enforced rules of conduct to be generated by the group members. These rules are established to maintain emotional and social, safety within the environment. Discussions regarding differences in ethnic background and membership in various subcultures often beneficial to assist the children in understanding emotional and psychological damages the racism can inflict.

Through education and awareness cultural safe and sensitive atmosphere can be created.

Cultural Inclusiveness: A culturally inclusive environment refrains any form of racist behavior. A culturally inclusive environment is where differences and similarities of people are discussed openly...

As coming from different culture and living in multi cultural community has made me a person with tolerance, respectful and understanding. These characteristics have developed humbleness and adaptive towards different cultures.
