Crazy Stupid Love Summary

Summary: The movie “Crazy, Stupid, Love” is an incredible person v.s. self journey with all the characters in it. The movie starts off with a tragic divorce between main characters, Cal Weaver and Emily Weaver. New main character, Jacob Palmer, gets introduced which leads the story on a search to find the man that Cal Weaver once was. Meanwhile Emily is searching for the happiness she lost years ago. Jacob Palmer throughout the story goes from an unfaithful player to madly in love with Hannah Weaver. Two other minor characters, Robbie Weaver and Jessica Riley, struggle with person battles on finding the right match as well. In the end of the story, Cal and Emily end up together with all their past mistakes behind them.

Exposition: The exposition of the movie shows us what Cal and Emily are like as a couple. It lets us see how they react to each other and how distant they are spiritually when they’re supposed to be the closest to people can get. There

She expresses that she has cheated on Cal and has felt this way for a long time. This is the inciting incident because this sets the movie on track, it leads us into Cal going to find himself and who he was without Emily. It introduces us to the idea that Cal needs to learn to be a better man for his family and wife.

Rising Action: The Rising Action of this story starts when Cal has to move into his own apartment and spends many nights alone at bars sealing some sort of attention and friendship. This leads him to meeting Jacob, Jacob then makes it his mission to get Cal to find his manhood once again. The pair then start shopping for a new look for Cal, going to the gym, and getting Cal to observe how to speak to women. Cal masters this skill and fraternize with many women.
