The first step in improving leader’s ability to lead is to understand them. Gaining an understanding of ones personality, leadership style, and associated leadership skills is vital. It is important to know, who you are, what you know about yourself. By identifying strengths and weaknesses, a person can work to become a better leader by adding knowledge, skills, and abilities. Covenant leadership produces the highest performing leaders, followers, and teams through committed, motivated and trusted relationships. Covenant leadership is an understanding of life that integrates leadership, ethics, and the work and private characteristics of life into one whole.

Integrity is the steadfast adherence to high ethical principles or professional standards; truthfulness, fairness, and doing what they say. Integrity is expressed in reliability of a person, actions of people that match their words. A person with integrity abides by the rules, regulations, and relevant laws to, adhere to the highest standards. Dilemmas are resolved with respect based on a consistent set of core values. A leader’s integrity gives credibility to followers and allows them to place their trust in the leader. A leader with integrity walks his talk. Holding myself accountable to integrity has many benefits. First, it is the right thing to do; next, it creates a culture in my organization that will influence my team’s performance in a positive manner.
