Recommended: Cause and effects for dropping out of college

In my personal opinion, I believe that attending a community college is not very helpful. In a community college many students tend to drop out the first semester, many students that aren’t capable of to do community college work, some credits might not be transferable from community college to four-year school. Here is why you shouldn't go to a college, first of all, there is a very high risk that students would drop out of college because almost 40% of all students in community colleges drop out. This is a high risk because some of your peers will potentially convince you to leave college because they dropped out. Also if you going to college be sure to have the right amount of money, a new study conducted by the Institute for Higher Education Leadership & Policy at Cal State Sacramento reported that some students typically drop out with a significant amount of debt and no degree to help them. The counselor in community colleges doesn't that much time to help you because he/she is very busy with others students. This is bad because maybe you'll need to manage your schedule but he/she is very busy with students. At the end, you’ll have to take a class you didn’t want to. …show more content…

A recent survey was conducted online by Harris Interactive on behalf of Pearson Foundation in August and September 2011. The survey polled 1,205 community college students on various issues regarding school, including ease of getting necessary courses and the level of difficulty of college-level coursework compared to high school classes. According to the Harris Interactive website, the survey found that more than half (52%) of all community college students felt unprepared for college-level coursework.
