As an effective 21st century teacher leader, student achievement and assimilation of the latest technological advances are utmost valuable to me. Moreover, I am keenly aware that, all students do not learn the same content and have different learning styles and needs due to their diverse backgrounds, and, effective and efficient school management is essential for student success. Additionally, it is fundamental for a visionary leader to integrate all possible resources in order to maximize student engagement and achieve a substantial learning environment that is vital to student success. It means, rather, that the job of administrative leaders is primarily about enhancing the skills and knowledge of people in the organization, creating a common culture of expectations around the use of those skills and knowledge, holding the various pieces of the organization together in a productive relationship with each other, and holding individuals accountable for their contributions to the collective result “(Elmore, 2000, p. 15). Distributed leadership in short is, transforming of the leadership from a traditional, leader-follower style to a collaborative, power with style. As a new principal, I would promote the distributive leadership through the three phase developmental process proposed by MacBeath in the Distributive Leadership: A Development Process (MacBeath, 2005). Salman Khan, founder of Khan Academy, a place where one can learn anything for free, and at their own pace, that help thousands of students across the globe, is one of my favorite leaders.
